Maybe he meant to say "Orca and Beer" meaning he was drinking beer at the time, and being mildly inebriated mis-spelled the word "beer" as "bear"?

What a bunch of idiot Aussies. Hiking in thongs, haven't got the right gear and obviously no experience. Conditions can change in an instant in the mountains, especially in Fiordland and you and those kids may of ended up in strife. You guys are exactly the tourists that have to get rescued or put in a body bag, all too often in New Zealand.
