I have a cat and one time he -made a hairball on my reed -ate my new reed, yes he took a bite of the cane -bent my bocal I now have a strict “no bathroom breaks” policy and go before i practice to prevent these expensive repairs

The main theme for this etude comes from the opening measures of the second part of Florent Schmitt's ballet "La Tragedie de Salome" (1910 version for large orchestra).

I make my reeds from Barton Cane's GSP cane. I also have used GSP from Womble Williams (Bob Williams' double reed business).

Take notes my fellow bassoon friends, this exact exposition of the Mozart Bassoon Concerto will almost always be on any professional audition you take. Nonetheless, excellent playing Mr. Yingst!!
