I'm sure you know that this was done on an upright bass. Is it strange how bass has evolved. When I played with an oldies band I would often improvise. My heroes are paul mccartney and chris Squire. I was told to tone it down. And they were right it sounded much better than that way.

Merci ! Désolé, je ne travaille qu'à l'oreille, ce qui explique que mes lignes ne soient pas toujours 100% conforme à l'original. J'espère que cela aidera quand même. Mais ne pas oublier l'essentiel: prendre du plaisir tout en restant fidèle à l'esprit du morceau.

Yes ! Although it was a 5-string, the Bass was tuned in E, A, D, G, C

Slt ! Merci pour le petit commentaire. En fait, je travaille exclusivement à l'oreille, ce qui explique que ça ne correspond pas forcément à l'identique de l'original. Mais j'essaie de coller le plus possible à l'esprit du morceau sans dénaturer la ligne. Donc pas de tablatures à proposer malheureusement ! Y doit certainement y en avoir sur le net

Do you have a musical education or selftought? I play this no problem, but such strict finger plucking with right hand....I just can't hahaha

Completely self-taught. Which explains my unconventional finger technique and my left hand placements. But everyone has their own style of playing and the sound that goes with it... This is what sometimes sets great musicians like Hendrix apart ;-). Playing and having fun is the best way to progress.

@@threebassguitars well....sure got a disciplined right hand dude.... it's what makes it sound flawless - and I mean that....flawless. Too many of these covers are people feeling themselves bit too much but you actually have given a well worth lesson here. Love it. Not doing it tho, too old to change how I play hahah. Still, wish I started out at the very begining few decades ago a bit more like this - although it sounds good enough the way I play, there are certain pieces that absolutely demand uniformed right hand finger pickings

Une valeur sûre la PB. Elle remplace la G&L qui va tirer sa révérence après de nombreuses années de service. Superbe basse, super son à la versatilité sans limite. Mais je ne me suis jamais vraiment fait à la 5 cordes et à son manche de bûcheron. J'aurai bien voulu la même en 4, mais je ne l'ai pas trouvée avec un sillet inférieur à 44 mm. Un jour peut être j'y reviendrai...
