We install the balance shaft so that the engine is smooth without vibration and the piston sleeves are installed so that we can put standard size pistons otherwise we have to put oversize pistons.

@@mirzamec9322 thanks for the reply. How much did you have to bore the block to make the liner sleeve fit? Deleting the balance shafts makes these engines much more reliable. The balance shafts are not properly oiled so have seen a lot of failures from the wear of the balance shafts sending metal thru the engine. The back 2 holes in the block are not fed oil and rely on splash lubrication. This is a flaw in the design. Most rebuilds in America opt to remove them. The front block holes are plugged to seal off the oil gally holes. Then use a timing chain oil squiter from a 2Rz engine to keep oil on the camshaft timing chain.
