Sprinter Sacre would NEVER have have lost over 2 miles & probably 2 & 1/2 miles if he didn't have his bad heart problem. He was an absolute monster.

“Tony McCoy, the winning-most national hunt rider of all time has waited a long time to land his first John Smith’s Grand National. Firsts all round: Tony McCoy, JP McManus, Jonjo O’Neill, Don’t Push It won The National” - What a fucking call that was

Best 2 racehorses of All Time. One on the flat, one over jumps. The connection? They both raced in the same calendar year. In s sport that is half a millenia old ? That is ultra-extroadinary 🎉🎉🎉

One of Sprinter Sacre's greatest performances. He could have won by a furlong if he'd wanted. What an awesome horse he was back in his prime.

i wasnt born when dancing brave ran but i do know if that aint a shocking ride "hold up" horse or not coming wide and that distance to make up your taking the piss as a jockey on the best horse.. though seen regularly on day to day racing now.. "mugs game"

Giants causeway, you will never see a bigger heart in a horse. It must be an amazing buzz to be on a top class horse, and being a jockey who has empathy to connect with the horse, and to feel the energy of the horse under stress, and you the jockey are keeping it going and no matter what you get over that line first. There is an enormous connection between horses and humans, just like dogs and humans. Giants causeway will always be my fav horse, just a shame he did not get there in usa, just failed, due to dodgy americans. The connection between a top jockey and such horses must be amazing, they both drive for that line keeping each other going, and this race showed that in spades with giants causeway. The iron horse, such a great name for that horse as you see here, just never gave in.

George Duffield was just as tough as old boots. He could keep a horse galloping far more longer than most . Great man in and out of the saddle.

Sea The Stars was a great horse. Along with Enable, probably the best we've seen since the days of Frankel. And IMO I believe strongly that the achievements of Sea The Stars outshine those of Frankel. Sea The Stars was most certainly campaigned much more ambitiously than Frankel.

I cannot think of a horse in history that could out battle the Iron Horse. When you analyse this race and the quality of the field (on a future form index probably the best race of the season), you then realise what an astonishing perfermance Giants Causeway did in winning here. Both he and Kalanisi pulled clear of the rest and the second was one of the toughest horses in training (looked at how he out battled Monteau in the Chanpion Stakes and later won the Breeders Cup). The added bonus of Giants Causeway was becuase he didn't win by much, he was always a backable price.

Fundamentalist was my nap of the meeting. Remember he got turned over in his prep over 3 miles, but I always thought a fast run 2m5f would suit him perfectly. He was an amazing price really, probably down to fact he was trained by the TFFFN.

One of the greatest racecards of the modern era. Why don't they happen anymore? Because of idiots like Henderson and Mullins who protect their assets and kill the game. Hopefully media and public pressure mean they make Shishkin and Eneurgamene turn up on Saturday. If it was up to them they wouldn't turn up believe me!

In my humble opinion, I thought Mastercraftsman gave Sea The Stars a harder row to hoe at York in the Juddmonte International than Rip Van Winkle gave him here in the Coral-Eclipse. Mastercraftsman was still actually a couple of lengths ahead of Sea The Stars and had him briefly hanging down the camber and on the stretch when they hit the final 200 meters until Mick Kinane quickly righted the ship. Rip Van Winkle was flying at Sea The Stars from behind in this race at Sandown but really never looked likely to pick him up and overtake him before they hit the wire. Especially with that stiff finish that Sandown has. At York though, many in the crowd thought Sea The Stars was in trouble against Mastercraftsman, with Racing UK's Graham Cunningham actually calling Sea The Stars as going to be beaten at one point late in the race.

Cue Card was a very good steeplechaser and met Sprinter Sacre here at a distance of 2m 4f which seemingly suited Cue Card more than Sprinter Sacre. Yet SS just beat CC soooo easily. What an unbelievably great horse he was prior to his heart problems. Just what more might he have achieved if he'd been healthy for his whole career !
