Knowing that the steering was controlled by a kind of rudder, how were the brakes and the accelerator controlled, and how was the gear reversed? Just like with their railway counterparts: by levers?

As annoying as it was when it was slipping, it was cool that you could hear it slip and then bite again in other parts of the belt. I wish I would have put more dressing on and let it soak in better before I got on the governor hard and dumped the belt at Mach Jesus into the clutch 😂

We had her going under a pretty hard load so I had the fire built up pretty strong. Ended up giving a little too much. I think the safeties lifted right as it exited the load cycle.

I rode this road locomotive at the age of steam roundhouse the owners said that the engine was really under powered and that it couldn't climb any kind of incline

Ya I was on it during the parade and we struggled to make it up some hills especially with the wagon full of people. But we put on a great spark show with it that night.

You did great Joshua Lenz! The first day was Judy K with a 4 Diameter Buckeye 3 Chime. The second day was Myron H, with a new whistle: a 2 Inch MD Lonergan 3 Chime. And Final day and the Fourth of July Event was Judy K, still wearing a 4 Diameter Buckeye 3 Chime. That week was a success! Thanks for this video!

Used to live near there. I hear now there are a lot of Amish doing this steam tractor thing now. Restoring, driving and even doing tractor pulls. On a visit home once my father in law and myself went to Mt Hope (at the auction) and watched a show and pull. These beast's can pull way more than gasoline or even diesel tractors. I love this type of event.
