Damn there ain’t much info on Lvad patients and this type of setup. Got a alert tonight and called mechanical heart team. Had blockage alert. Line like a glow stick. Had to bust it up a little with the clamp and get a little more flow rate. Should be good till the morning when got appointment for dressing change.

I am a chronically home ventilated patient, who has a tracheostomy, and who is on the ventilator 24/7. I have an ICU monitor at my home, and I monitor my ETCO2, so that I can titrate my ventilator settings according to my etco2. I think like an RT, more than I think like a patient. You'd be surprised what I know. I don't think like your average patient. Otherwise, I wouldn't have my five lead ECG, NIBP, Pulse Ox, and Temperature monitor probes on me. I look like an ICu patient, but I can interprit ECG very well, and know my parameters. I have for many years. I've stumped RTs many times. I've seen RTs pull out manuals to equipment, and I tell them, "I don't need the manual. Let me help you!" So my room looks like an ICu, because essentially it is an ICU.

PLEASE NOTE: The description of use of manual mode for ALTRIX TTM is incorrect. The instructor describes the temperature entry in MANUAL MODE as the PATIENT target temp when manual sets the temp of the BLANKET. To set the desired patient TEMP, you must use the AUTOMATIC MODE. Notice in the final pictures it says the water is WARMING, because the WATER is cooler than the temp set (32C). The machine is warming the WATER to 32 degrees, this obviously won't cool the patient. Use of automatic mode adjusts the water temp to bring the patients temp to the target set and maintain it. This comes directly from the STRYKER IFU manual.
