I am totally out of my element here but if you trace the body out and then plane it doesn't it end up narrower than when you started? Shouldn't the two joining pieces be planed and then traced out? Don't get offended because I am not suggesting you're wrong. It just doesn't make sense logically based on the facts as I see them. Maybe you traced it oversized, idk. Or is it that close enough is close enough with the basic copied shape.
@OverNightLuthier13 күн бұрын
@MyToxicMasculinity I re-read what you wrote. You are correct it would be a mm or so narrower. And yes, it would be better to trace afterward. It's not a huge concern, but it does make a difference.

Nice job! Building a classical guitar is not for the faint hearted. I like extra length of the fingerboard, tuners, and carve outs. Looking forward to the recording with a good mic. It sounds a bit “tinny.” Overall, excellent build.

Many :) Acoustic guitars are too big for my intended purposes. There is no need in a modern setting to have a large guitar unless you are playing a show or acoustic get-together un-mic'd. I play for myself, so a small guitar is more comfortable and plenty loud enough to record. Also, the shorter scale hurts my wrist, much less. :)
