Hi - great question - and a hard one to answer as it depends on many factors which change depending on where you are - such as the type of mushroom you're planning on growing, substrate, labour and energy costs in your area, the demand for a particular type of mushrooms - it's worth you doing a study in your local area and see what's right for you - where are you based? They love to grow on a hardwood sawdust... try supplementing up to 20% with bran, or they also like to grow on Master's Mix (50:50 Hardwood Sawdust : Soy Bean hulls)

Hi - it can help with joint pain if it's due to inflammation, but Reishi is best known for pain relief and reducing inflammation, so may be worth starting with that. A daily does of ginger, once built up over time, has worked for me on joint pain in my wrists and elbows

You can get cold weather strains of oyster, particularly blue and brown winter oyster - lions mane are more picky with swings and extremes of temperature though... have you tried growing either one yet where you live?

Hey - firstly, thanks for watching and challenging up with this comment... we're not changing the breeding mushroom here, it's just what happens when you grow in the wold (lots of oxygen, access to light) vs. growing under different controlled conditions (high CO2 and low light) - it changes the appearance of the mushrooms, but of you fruited the same mushroom from the same spawn in wildly different conditions (one to mimic wild, the other high CO2 and dark) you would get very different looking mushrooms - I agree that selective breeding with dogs has caused some very dangerous issues, but that's not the case here and we're not changing, or trying to change the breed! Google "mushroom spawn" or "mushroom grain spawn" and you will be able to find a supplier in your local area - hope that helps!

Have you been spraying it? If you spray with a spritzer or hose it should be able to take on enough water to keep it hydrated - also, keep in the shade, if it's in direct sunlight it may dry out too quickly and become light, and mushrooms will struggle to grow... hope that helps, of not, feel free to post another comment here!
