Was that a death dance? Reminds me of satan or devil spirit?
@ApacheKidd

A sunrise dance. It’s a girl’s coming of age. The dancers are spirits that in numerous Apache stories did different things such as showing the Apaches how to live, protecting the people during hard times, taking all the bad/negative energy off of people etc. Depends on who you ask and which band of Apache they are. In old Apache tradition as many other tribal beliefs, we didn’t believe in the Bible, god or the devil.

What is a crown dancer? And what does this dance symbolize? It would be nice to know. I have no idea what they are doing this for, and what the things on their heads are trying to symbolize.
@shebrnb

The Crown Dancers are the Ga'an, or mountain spirits. Apaches believe that Usen, the Creator, sent the Ga'an to the Apache to teach them to live in harmony. There are five Crown Dancers, four masked dancers representing the directions of north, south, east, and west, and the 5th the Clown. To the Apache people, the Clown is a sacred being with great power given to him by Thunder; he represents just what the power of thunder provokes, fear from a tremendous power in the sky, greater than anything that we see on the earth. In this way, the manner of the Clown "fooling around" is anything but trite; instead, this is a serious spiritual element to a ceremony reflecting the randomness of misfortune in his seemingly mad behavior, just as nature reminds us of our own mortality. Therefore, his key message is to always take the time to enjoy life and its' rewards by constantly reminding us about the ever present potential of experiencing sorrow through deep personal loss; the meaning and importance behind love, friendship, family, and community are thus evident.

I know this is a month later.. But what the other person said is true to an extent. There are various bands of Apaches and each have their own stories to where the Crown Dancers or Gaan come from. The Crown Dancers in history are said to have taught the Apache people how to live but stories would vary. The Crown Dancers in the past would only come down during hard times and help heal the people or maybe for a specific individual. This dance is a sunrise dance. A girl’s coming of age. The crown dancers come to dance to give strength to the girl and also help the people. Every step they take, their “dance moves” all have a purpose. They take away all the bad/negative energy off the people and give strength to the girl becoming a woman. The headdresses have many different meanings. Every headdress and it’s symbols represents or has a purpose. There are deer crowns, world crowns, bull crowns, healing crowns, direction crowns etc. There are “entertainment crowns” but I wouldn’t consider that as part of our tradition..

Reality. Accept one world, one Almighty - one humanity concept. Mother is goddess and Father is god. Respect females. The Almighty creating humans based on the past track deeds. Human beings have to face ups and downs in the present generation. Humans are living in scientifically advanced world. They changed their life style, hair style and dress style. But they are adamant to destroy Religious sentiments The Almighty is not creating any religions for fighting themselves or any god or goddess in the universe to save the people from distress. Crazy selfish and cunning humans created religions, gods and goddesses, wrote parable, freaky stories to fool the innocent and ignorant people. Each religion has too many dirty sub religious communities. Human created religions are creating enmity among humans and human designed gods/goddesses have no power to save the Earthians from distress. Religion is not the basic need to live on the Earth Planet. Religion spoils your future, Religion divides the Earthians, Religion creates sense of revenge; Religion is an evil element, Religion develops enmity among Earthians, Religion is against the nature of reality. Religion is not the basic need to live. Entomb religious sentiments and live like human Happily and peacefully without religious menace.
