Cold packing you DO use a pressure cooker but you do NOT have to put boiling water into jars. Cold pack means cold pack. I fill mine with warm water ONLY to melt the zinc tablet I put in to retain the bright green.

I've got a Morgan Caller like that but can't make a good gobble with it. I've seen Kenny's video. Do you have any tips? Nice calling by the way!

Do you sell the auger system?
@DirtRoadGroceryStore Жыл бұрын
Douglas Feeders sells something similar that looks professionally done, but it's a little spendy. I haven't figured out a way to do it at a reasonable price. I think I put about $100 bucks into each feeder and it looks home-made for sure. I'd have to sell them for double that to make it worth my time.

The Wing Wood is a killer call! I've built calls almost 33 years and started making the wing wood 3 years back. I've shot well over a hundred longbeards using that sound. I make different calls but I've made and shipped more of those calls than any other in my years of making. It's my top seller and has been for a long long while now! Of course the cedar call is my original caller. I've done other woods upon special request but it's hard hard to beat the sound of the cedar call.

Why store for several years ?
@DirtRoadGroceryStore3 жыл бұрын
It's not necessary, but it's nice to have food stored for future use We're still eating beans from 2020 and canning more from the 2021 garden.

Can you cold pack salsa?
@DirtRoadGroceryStore3 жыл бұрын
You could, but salsa needs to be cooked together to get the flavors.
@raisetheline Жыл бұрын
With salsa the process of canning is mostly due to to acidity of the tomato. Like she said above it tastes much better cooked together. (Cold pack generally means raw) it would be cooked by the time salsa is done. You can’t manipulate the texture of the veggies (some people like raw ingredients as well as the cooked flavor most of those peppers give off.

Great video. Man I can't find a Trumpet call to save my life, can you recommend a call maker or where is a good place to find one for sale? Thank you Sir,
@DirtRoadGroceryStore3 жыл бұрын
Top makers are building to order and probably have a waiting list. Midwest Turkey Call Supply will usually have some in stock. You could also make your own. See www.gutenberg.org/files/46542/46542-h/46542-h.htm#CHAPTER_XII for instructions. And of course, rumble.com/vg2e91-diy-turkey-trumpet.html if you just want something to play with while you wait on a custom order.
