This song nowdays could absolutely mean anything. I never thought about this songs meaning shooting drugs. I thought of the preachers who handle snakes and contrast that with a vodoo or shaman yhat does. Just not being here on this Earth plane and how hard it is and never wanting to incarnate or reincarnate.This song has alot od depth. I enjoy the song.

In response to what is written on the guitar, this is because Metallica made of Layne Staley's drug addiction to fans on the tour AIC had to drop from. Metallica was in the audience at this unplugged in 96, the year I graduated highschool, and chopped of their hair. That was AIC getting back at them.

When I was in middle school I had to bring one of my songs into Sunday school. It had to be non Christian but a song that we thought was a very good so g and not singing about anything bad.. LAMO boy was I wrong.. the song starts playing and my Sunday school teachers eyes got so big and she looked at me so serious and said " Jessica are u serious.. This song is about shooting drugs in your vein" never expected that but it never changed my Outlook on the song. Still love it to this day

Yep.. shooting ICE destroyed swims. life. swim was clean for 3 years, and decided to dabble again. Swim has to stop, before it destroys him. Drug addiction is a horrible horrible hell.
