I owned a 2003 Sienna. Toyota significantly reduced the size over last 20 years. Makes me angry. It’s not much more than a large SUV. The reason is they made a larger version, the Hiace, so they could jack up the price. They did the same thing with the Camry when Avalon was created.

Hands down I can buy a Gas car and run it for almost half the cost of an EV to do the same for half the cost, I do own a cheaper used EV to toy with and for the fun of it, but bang for the buck it runs twice the cost of my Gas car.

The federal government who is trying to force us to get EV’s says it cheaper….right.

What I have wondered is if a ev is say 7-8 years old but has about 50k miles, does that mean the battery life is better than a newer ev with higher miles

I bought a 2015 Chevy Volt with a salvaged title that was in great shape, and I really enjoy it. I wish I could afford a Prius Prime or RAV4 Prime, but they're too expensive at this point. I have a 240v charger at home, so it's super convenient. The 40-mile electric range is nice, and I like the range-extending engine and transmission that only uses electric motors to drive the wheels.

Absolutely NOT!!! Let’s say that the electric grid goes off for months and you’re on a long trip. What will you do?
@jdlutz19654 күн бұрын
You'd have a hard time finding a gas station that could pump gas if the grid is down for a month. Perhaps one could charge their car with solar panels while the apocalypse happens?

I own a 2020 Prius prime just like the one one the video and want runs out the electricity automatically turns to hybrid mode barely noticeable almost not..so just keep gasoline on the tank and you can still going 450 miles more without an issue is a Toyota

I have a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica, not a hybrid. I have a set of twins who just turned 1 a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old. I love my Pacifica. We drive from Wolcott NY to Florida every year from 12/21 to 01/02 my Pacifica never slips in winter storms and is good on gas. I love this vehicle, I finally reached 106000 miles I don't want to let it go for another brand. I plan to keep my current one and purchase another Chrysler Pacifica but don't know if I should take a hybrid.

Because im crazy, i would modify a Pacifica by creating a Hellcat version, blacked out with brembo brakes. I'd get the kids to the soccer tournament 3 states a way in 10 seconds flat. Lol!
@indang3r6106 күн бұрын
if you got 1-2 kids any normal car will do, dont need vans or suvs. For example a Dacia Sandero Stepway 100 eco-g will get you enough ground clearence for everywhere around town even light offroad doable in 2 wheel drive, has 2 tanks one with gasoline other with LPG allowing you to drive only on LPG if u want which is cheaper ( 0.99 per liter in Germany). The car itself can be bought with navigator using wireless apple carplay, google, has phone support, heated front seats, arm rest, parking sensors, collision warning etc and the car brand new with all options is still under 15k, so used is probably much less. As a father myself, I really see no point for SUVs and vans for most parents, unless you really got to go in the wild to need 4x4 or you got like 3 kids or more or a big family to haul around in a 7 seater.

One thing I'd like to know, and you don't mention at all, is....do any of these models have a spare tire included? Even a temporary spare? It's amazing to me that manufacturers are getting away with selling touring and even off road cars without spare tires. You don't say one thing about this.

Seeing this over a year later makes me laugh. The charger is coming back in 2 and 4 door models though the look they chose is shit. They should have ACTUALLY gone with the 2nd gen dodge charger body style rather than a futuristic looking shitbox approach. And honestly, I'm genuinely curious if maybe some folks out there won't upgrade with the new hurricane I6 motors. Small motor than can fit in ANYTHING with BIG power and actually decent fuel economy for the horsepower. The standard output model has more horsepower than the scatpack and the high output model has almost as much horsepower as the old 6.1 HEMI motors from back in the late 2000s. Time will tell of the reliability of said motors, but being an inline 6 cylinder its going to be VERY easy to fix and maintain. Just the nature of inline cylinder engines to begin with. Im actually thinking about doing the upgrade to my own 2016 challenger SXT.

*Its about reliability to me.. Both Honda and Toyota have proved they are reliable.. I just dont like the drop of power with the hybrid engine in the toyota.. yes its reliable and toyota has been using this hybrid engine since 1997 with great reliability.. however we are talking minivans which means you probably want to travel with several ppl.. imo that loss of power will make a difference.. So I would choose Honda for this reason... Kia and Chrysler have failed the reliability test.. Both rarely last over 200k miles without having major issues by that time.*

I've got 2025 Sienna XSE, those come with sport tuned suspention, and it becomes a bit more fun when you throw it into sport mode. Mine is AWD so I get that kick from rear motor. They have larger screen for 2025 and better holder for wireless charging. Had 2013 Sienna before this one. For 11 years of ownership had zero problems.

I'm watching this like I could afford one... 😅 Driving a 2006 Chrysler Voyager currently. I am glad to see Chrysler still holds up. Less fancy than the other two, but I woud still choose that (I love the stow n go in mine, but I might trade it for the hybrid option, because of the daily school runs)

We are a family of 5, my parents bought a 2020 pacifica hybrid (in 2020) and it is amazing. It is the first car that I have even driven (I am not an adult) and the seats are super comfortable. We can easily go from Montreal to Myrtle beach in South Carolina in a 2 day trip. The battery lasts for about 50km (which is about 31 miles) and recharges in like an hour. I love minivans. We had a (iirc 2010) dodge grand caravan but the cost to keep it running was too much. Amazing car.
