An exceptional teaching video and by far one of the very best on KZbin.

I’ve seen a lot of instructors online but this one is by far the best in my opinion for beginners. The simple fact that there is no distracting background no fluorescent lights no waterfalls etc. nothing to distract you from the movements that are performed. The movements are performed slowly and there are enough repetitions performFor you to catch on easily and if that’s not enough the commentary is excellent and easy to follow. After taking my class yesterday I was so worried that I wouldn’t find Video to supplement my learning and I stumbled upon this gem! Thank you so much for making this

Excellent video is the same one our instructor told us yesterday. Easy to follow no distracting background and you can concentrate on just the movement and movement is super slow which is perfect for a beginner like me thank you so much

What a gem finding this video! Is the exact form done in my class which I couldn’t follow lol because I’m a beginner. I checked other forms online and none of them seem to follow the exact sequence our teacher was showing us except for this one. What I like alsoAbout this film is that there is no distracting background. No waterfalls no fluorescent colors just a plain back black background where you can concentrate on the movements which are done super slow and idiot proof lol so that a beginner can follow along thank you so much for making this

Just come across this old video clip (Thanks KZbin for suggesting it) On first look I thought that it must be really uncomfortable having a sword through the head :) :) :)

Start by: 1. Showing the full movement you are about to teach, so the student has the idea of what he's supposed to learn. 2. When tell him, now we'll unpack it step by step . 3. Let's put it back again.

Repulse monkey should be left, right, left, right, no? O.K. I got it. I was thinking feet. Refers to arm movement of repelling monkey, not the footwork. Very good.

This and the other three parts are by far the best way of learning the Beijing 24 properly, as you would be instructed in a class run by a master.

how to breathe?
@jimkeen76746 жыл бұрын
Breathe naturally. My tai chi instructor tells us when to breathe, but we are also told that when first learning the forms, breathing naturally is fine. Most important, do not hold your breath!

I have never done Tai Chi before. I find these lessons excellent. I am taking it slowly and am enjoying it a lot . Thanks for posting. I intend to learn the forms and then take some classes.

Better take classes first and then use the internet to refine your moves. I did it this way. After 10 yrs of practice, I am teaching the 24 forms to a group in my condo!

I don't understand how the clock is oriented. Is 12 behind at commencement or 6?
@anthonyputtergill58544 жыл бұрын
12 o' clock in front at commencement, 6 behind
@timothycliffe30613 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think during the flow, twelve o' clock is where the dian tien faces. Am I wrong? So the feet move in reference to this constant.

Hi, I wrote to the Institution about subtitling the videos into Brazilian Portuguese. I can see I could subtitle from here if it is available for translating. Automatic translation doens´t really help. DVDs would be much better with Port-Br subtitles. Some old people won´t go on the net. I would like to contribute with subtitling.

At beginner speed it shouldn't be. You should have your weight entirely on the back leg and reach out with the front and set it down gently.
