although this is not the authentic way of traditional boat making but I appreciate your efforts to make this boat, but in the meantime please don't ignore the traditional way of boat making because it is a very valuable heritage. don't let it disappear from the soul of the younger generation.

As someone who works on boats and builds traditional wooden furniture, I have to applaud the craftsman. This build represents a wonderful mix of traditional woodworking (joinery, planes and chisels) and modern techniques (using epoxy and power tools). I love to see things like this and I really appreciate the video! I have a question regarding the outreams. It looks like they were tied on with monofilament fishing line. I know that is strong, with several layers, it can hold near 1000 lbs of force, and it is using the traditional technique of lashing. Is there a reason to use this instead of epoxy? Is it more flexible and can take repeated flexing better, or is it chosen because you can cut it away with a knife in an emergency? Some other reason? I trust in the crafter's skills, so I'm sure the choice was thought out and I'm hoping to confirm my guesses or learn something new. Thank you again!

they use those strings so they can easily replace or remove the outriggers. If there's a typhoon coming, they can just remove the outriggers and carry the boat to a much more secure place easily

Ayus, ang ganda nung nagawa itong bangka, pero kahit medyo malayo ang lugar bago maipalutang sa tubig, ay sulit naman ang pagod at may magagamit ng pangingisda panghanap buhay ayus ingat lagi Godbless.

Watching from Northern Ireland ,we have a good tradition of boat building here and it is good to see you are keeping the traditional boats alive there. I agree with other contributers that the should be supporting your efforts. Great skills

Huwag na kayo gumawa ng tradisyunal na bangka. Yung bakal na para tumagal at matibay sa banggaan. Gumawa din ng matulin at yung hindi basta lulubog dahil may hangin sa gilid o double hull.

Yeah, it's nice to see how traditional boatmaking is done in the Philippines, all hand-made without any blueprint, just sheer skill and experience. In this day and age though, when quality is measured by close tolerances, repeatability and precision, it's imperative that one has to adopt to the next level skills to advance his trade. It's a pity that the government did not support and develop this small scale industries through advance skills training in boat design, use of composite materials and parts fabrication.
