I hope some day that we shall see a proper memorial to the 36th (Ulster) division on the ridge , pick house strongpoint would be a good location , I would avoid the politically inspired ‘united ireland peace tower’.

The six counties that make up the sectarian statelet called Northern Ireland is in Ireland (there's a big clue in the name Sherlock ) And the overwhelming majority of people on that island called Ireland ( with its non British soil) would much prefer it if foreign soldiers weren't tramping around Irish towns .

@deslatt1172 Foreign troops my foot. They are not foreign. These men are probably the most loyal and professional soldiers in the country. As a naturalised U.K. citizen, being born and bred in from a former British colony, I had the privilege to serve alongside some of these amazing individuals, in peacetime, and when the proverbial hit the fan, deployed in combat, to do our duty. I was part of a Nato contingent. May Our Lord bless the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
