i find lots of metal slack along my property line as though a blacksmith kept a forge nearby...I've found a worn out horseshoe in the yard, and what looks like a worn-out wagon wheel axle? Its 5-6 inches worn on one side of the bolt and distorted like it held lots of weight... perhaps a soft iron... the houses in this neighborhood were built in 1920's and I think this junk was excavated when my neighbor's home was built 100 years ago, cause its all next to his foundation where they dugout the basement... found a navel button from WW1 in the same spot too, some damage but pretty good shape considering

That was a really great hunt, guys! That green Indian was absolutely gorgeous! And that soil protecting so much detail on the shield nickel makes me a little envious…our mountain soil over here in northern Pa just eats up coins like that, because of the amount of organic content and moisture. I’m usually lucky if I can see a few stripes of the shield or make out the huge 5 at all! I’d be willing to bet that the angled chisel was used for a lathe, and was discarded after it was sharpened to such a short length that the handle was interfering with reaching the wood. And since they started out with at least 12” of blade…the fact that it had been sharpened so many times reveals a LOT of history just by its short length! It died while making the beautiful church interior…what a way to go out! Some great history uncovered!

@OffTrailTreasuresАй бұрын
You never know what you're going to find in the ground! I think the upgrade is worth it- Beast/boost mode is is good in the right scenario and I hear more good things about DT than I do BM- although I have yet to really put it through its paces.

Nice pocket change. If that park had houses, they probably added some topsoil and smoothed it all over.The real older coins maybe a foot down. I would come back trying a larger coil.

Crotal bells and sleigh bells ( jingle bells ) are attached to leather straps and buckled around the belly band of the harness - the Crotal bell is more lle a rattle and a sleigh bell is brass and chimes

Looks like a fun time.. As a child we had several boulevard path ways and empty lots where we played football, baseball and climbed trees located within the areas. It would be fun to go back there and detect it to see what could be found today.

Very interesting video. I know of a neighborhood in San Francisco just like this so there is a high chance there was once a trolly line there as well. I’m going to view Google Maps in a different way now and look for this type of thing with the thought that there could have been a trolley line once there before. It would be great to see videos of remains of old pilings by waterways since ferries were common in the older days. I believe that can be overlooked with metal detecting and I’m starting to look for places like that.

They're on and off- I got the ones that are rubber coated on one side and I'll leave them until my hand is so sweaty it gets pruney, then I take it back off. Or sometimes I forget them all together... but I have gotten a NASTY cut before so I try to wear them all the time. Probably time to switch to a summer glove.

I thought beast mode was only able to be accessed in gold mode???
@OffTrailTreasures2 ай бұрын
From the menu yes, but it's actually a whole other mode in itself.
@wildmandigging34862 ай бұрын
Show I can use it in park,and field mode also and if so once you turn it on it’s useable in the other ones not just gold mode?
@OffTrailTreasures2 ай бұрын
No my understanding is that you're not even in gold mode. It's just where they put the option. It's instead of gold, beach, park and field. But you just access it from the gold menu- which was a bad idea and very confusing if you ask me...
@wildmandigging34862 ай бұрын
I agree so once it’s turned on it’s is a separate mode correct and it don’t matter if your in park field or gold sorry for question just confusing to me
@OffTrailTreasures2 ай бұрын
Yes totally separate mode. DT is used with existing modes but beast is its own thing all together and used alone.

sleigh bells would be on a strap and usually without the square on top only iron staining from where it was attached. This is for sure a croatal bell probably used for livestock animals.
@Beard1202 ай бұрын
That’s an awesome find! I’ve always wanted to find one of those. Also to my knowledge, and I could be wrong, but I believe crotal bells and jingle bells and slay bells are all the same thing. Another channel I watch uses them interchangeably so unless he’s wrong then I believe they are.

Lg35 and soft squeak squeak with no depth bars showing(outside of range to work) and maybe occasional 46 47 and 11 believe it or not. It will show the 11 when software is uncertain, deep silver will come. You want a soft squeak squeak in threshold type sound like when using a gold nugget detector. The super deep targets won't give a big beep beep. And no bars with soft signal will be very deep targets. And yes light squeak squeak no depth bars and maybe occasional 46 to 48 with 11 VDI mixed in. That's 3 top things with super deep targets. And of course if it does give full depth bars and a good VDI then dig those. But my truly deep ones out of range of the regular programs will be my rule of 3 I have shared with you. Keep on keeping on! Oh and coins on edge will surprise you to. The extra umph this program has by being opened up more will show you coins that are tilted past 45 degrees that other programs just plain miss. So you will see shallow even at 2" silver coins on edge. You swear there was no way you could have missed it. But regular programs and most detectors really struggle with coins tilted up past 45 degrees to a 90 standing on edge.
