Ummmm no. But the person people call Jesus did celebrate Hanukkah because he was Jewish and it is written about in the book of John in the so-called New Testament. We do not worship false idols, and false gods, nor do we pray to them.
@AltarToAdonai10 күн бұрын
The prayer isn’t directed to an idol, it is directed to Hashem. Messianic Jews do believe that Yeshua is the promised Messiah, in the same way Lubbavitchers believe the Rebbe Schneerson of blessed memory was. From the forest comes the handle for the axe… blessings and Chag same’ach

We’ve been doing it since Lana was little and they have always loved it. It’s a fun way to make more positive memories with scripture. You should hear the girls ones, they are hilarious! I’ll give you a hint… we got them mascara, and the Bible clue is at the end of Jer 4, and the other has to do with Jezebelle😂😂😂😂 I didn’t include those in the video because I didn’t want to scar people for life haha!

All the material things that pass through our hands are being routed by Hashem Himself for seasons and reasons beyond us. May we not be like Korach, trying to hold onto something that isn’t meant for us, and instead just allow His glory to rest on our shoulders🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Shalom! Thank you for taking the time to listen to this rendition of the Grace After Meals excerpt and send your concerns. As you might know, there are different pronunciation systems for Hebrew depending not only on your Jewish ancestral heritage but also varying community to community. As an example, I’m sure we can both agree on, Sephardic, Ashkenazi, and Yemenite Jews all read the Torah, but their pronunciation varies so much that if one were to speak it quickly and fluently the other may have to take a minute to catch up. An example of this is Beit vs Beis, Adonai vs Adoinay, etc. This also is true for melodies in prayer. Just moving from the East Coast to the West Coast has shown me that common prayers like Leha Dodi and Etz Chaim sound noticeably different depending on your community! As for this particular version in the video, the pronunciation is Sephardic, the melody is one common in our community on the East Coatst. I made this video primarily as a learning tool for others at our synagogue. As for why a believer in Jesus would pray this, it’s really a loaded question. In the simplest form, a Jew can never stop being Jewish. There are Jewish Buddhists, Jewish Atheists, Jewish Hindus, Orthodox, Reconstructionists, you name it! To the note on Jesus having his own prayers: Christianity has done a fine job of making Jesus out to be a founder of a new polytheistic religion, which isn’t historically or scripturally accurate. In reality, Jesus was a Jew, who followed the law of Moses, worshipped the Gd of Israel and taught others to do the same. A fun fact: the earliest written record of the Haftarah being read in the synagogue in Shabbat is found in the New Testament. It’s almost far fetched to imagine Jesus, whose Hebrew name is Yeshua, not praying prayers like the one recorded here in this video. I’d go as far as to say, if someone really believes in who Jesus is recorded to be, they should align themselves with Israel, worship Gd as the Torah prescribes, and learn the ancient prayers their savior most likely knew variations of. I hope that answers some of your questions and gives you a more well rounded understanding of why I recite and share blessings like the Birkat HaMazon and Modeh Ani. Blessings and shalom

You have an exquisite voice - however to the Jewish person, the pronunciation is extremely weird and the melody isn't in the spirit of how one sings this tiny part of the blessing. To help: please know what a qametz appears in the 1st syllable and unnaccented it is pronounced 'oh' (Qametz Hatoof), never, ever 'ah'. Also the melody is extremely happy and sung much more joyously rather than a worship song. A minor point: given you do not accept Rabbinic Judaism, why are you learning this? It has zero to do with Jesus. Didn't Jesus have his own blessing after the meal you might use?
