Has anyone tried drawing the the wax and then wrapping it round the candle and then hairdryering?
@JellyAndPickle16 күн бұрын
😮 that could work! Draw with crayons (I guess onto non stick paper which might be tricky)! But worth a try!!

A couple of rooms in my house had woodchip paper on the ceiling ( with a couple of layers of paint on ). I screwed thin plywood over it and papered over it. It saved a lot of time and effort.

I like this approach and will probably do this in the future! Just hide the mistakes and move on 😂

🤦♀️ wall of brambles are a total pain. Here they are all along the roads and although a great fruit they are super invasive too. Oh I would defo remove the bamboo 😮. Oh yikes Ellie I have done that before 😂 but I also ran over the hose with the mower 🫣🤭🤭. It will definitely make a lovely seating area under the thinned out trees. Great job guys, have a fab weekend, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
@JellyAndPickleАй бұрын
Definitely! We like to make blackberry gin but that’s the only redeeming thing about the brambles! Haha, not my finest moment but not out of character! 😅 Hope you have a great weekend too!

I melt wax in a coffee cup or small ceramic bowls on a candle warmer. I put the cups on a heat pad for many colors.

I’d’ve said that was 1970/80s decor rather than 50s when it would’ve been all dark, free-standing furniture .... and picture rail not dado .... it’s what we used to hang pictures and heavy mirrors from, rather than putting holes in the walls, as they would’ve been expensive to repair - hence the really long fixing nails - the idea was, it made the ceilings look higher. Personally, I’d’ve kept them as they’re an original, architectural feature and people are now putting them back in. I would also have been very tempted to get a plasterer in to skim coat the ceiling (they’re not horrendously expensive, particularly for a small room) it’s made a huge difference to all my ceilings. And, sorry, if that all sounds a tad negative as I’m impressed with what you’ve done - love that blind too😊
@JellyAndPickle3 ай бұрын
Oh yes probably more like 70s! The house is 1950s! I would always try to keep original or characterful features but this one just wasn’t to our taste, and don’t think was original! 😁 Definitely will be getting a plasterer in next time, was just trying to get this room done as quickly and cheaply as possible, it might all change again when we have the rest of the house renovated! 😁 No of course, thank you watching and for the comment! 💛

Please suggest! I’m no way an expert seamstress so will take all the tips! 😁 Thank you! I was so sad they were too thin with one layer so happy they work double sided!

@@JellyAndPickle i most definitely am still learning myself! I like to use something called a “contoured” waistband. I believe patterns for pirates has a free pattern called “peg legs” and I’m pretty sure one of the options is for a contoured waistband. Essentially, it’s wider where it attaches to the pants, and narrower at the waist. It helps to hold up nicely and also not have the gapping in the back or the need for over gathering, which can result in the puckers
@KCJConcreteDesignCo7 ай бұрын
you should mix with soy wax much smoother

is this safer than acrylic paint?
@paytonsee7 ай бұрын
acrylic paint is generally considered non toxic to my knowledge. using a heat gun or open flame definitely isn’t as safe, but it has a different result
@JellyAndPickle6 ай бұрын
Yes it would be! Acrylic paint is only ok if you don’t plan on burning the candles!
