I was surprised to see the Discraft Soft Magnet on this list. I found one years ago and it's my favorite putter. I haven't really tried it on the fairway. It hadn't occurred to me the way it melts into the chains except on windy shots on elevated baskets. I'll be experimenting....

I actually use these to putt too. A true lifesaver for mountain disc golf and allows you to go for it as it sits and doesn’t skip away if you miss. Huge learning curve tho! *am in Colorado

I'm pretty sure they don't have an Interstellar Jay tho. This disc model is called the Reliant. The Interstellar Jay will be my signature version of the Reliant named partly in tribute to my deceased Brother Jay.

I use discs from @nshcustomdiscs and they are printed in a really nice flexible material but I have no idea exactly what it is tbh.

I play golf, and I can hold my own. I always just say wind is blowing left or wind is blowing right. Or it breaks left or breaks right. WHY is everyone trained to say left to right or right to left? You NEVER say left to left or right to right so what’s the point? Anyways, much respect!
@DiscGolfNerd26 күн бұрын
Just a different way of communicating I guess. I have never heard anyone say wind breaks left or breaks right myself. To say it's moving left to right quickly conveys the direction wind is coming from and the way it's moving.

Reliant like any disc from NSH can be ordered in any color you want including custom designs. My signature Defiant is mostly pink with the bright yellow/orange rim so kinda the inverse of this one.

The Comet is something of a wide diameter clone of the Ontario Roc (which is a different mold than the KC). The Comet was always flippier, which is a good reason I liked them better when I started throwing them. Such a great disc. More versatile than the Meteor and Sol. It's weird that an older Comet would be flatter than the Cryztal Sparkle one though (the orange ESP ones did tend to run flatter than the other colors though). They got flatter and flatter over the years, and only this spring started getting domey again...

For rainy rounds or rounds with wet grass I carry a pair of Gorilla Grip gloves from Home Depot. They are thin enough to throw with and I find that I can pick up a wet disc and not even have to towel it off to throw my next shot. So in a way they speed up my round because I don't spend as much time wiping down discs.
@DiscGolfNerdАй бұрын
Very nice. I've found my signature Defiant and other stuff from NSH Custom Discs has a good grip even when wet and it is definitely nice to be able to just pick up the disc and toss it without all the prep.

Yah could be helpful for sure. Trilogy base line plastics are not as common but also work well. I am also probably gonna do a video about some grip aids soon so keep an eye out. Could be helpful for sweat related grip issues for sure.

I have 3 pre-production prototype white Strato Wrens. Bought one right after they were announced and after using it for a couple months as a thrower I bought 2 more. One of the new Wren's is now my dedicated putter having replaced my Aviar. It has a similar feel in the hand as an Aviar or Wizard but the Strato plastic is what sets the Wren apart from the others. Strato plastic is medium firm but has a bit of tack to it, just what I was looking for in a putt and approach disc. Durability seems very good so far. For short drives and approaches it's a point and shoot disc, holds the line it's put on. Thrown flat is has little fade at the end as your video clips demonstrate. The flight numbers mentioned seem about right.
