When I watched the anime, I seriously got the vibe from a korean drama "The Legend (2007)" (other names: 태왕사신기 , the story of first king four gods) as if the author mainly got the inspiration of the story from there. The plot was totally similar from the reincarnation of the king (with a huge star sign at that), the existence of the four guardians with their awakening when the king (yona) gets near, and the enormous achievements of her team. Even the Hiryuu Shrine that was shown in the manga looks exactly like the meeting hall of the king and noble officials in the drama. That's why I am totally hooked in this anime and I'm still reading the manga to catch up. So if anyone want to watch some sort of a live action version of this anime, then you should go with this series. The CGI is great too ♡
