Ares gets such a bad rep, even though it’s pretty obvious that the Athenians who write everything down (compared to how little other Greek cities did) were clearly pretty goddamn biased. I mean of course they’d depict their favorite goddesses rival as a complete tool. Ares is surprisingly one of the least problematic gods on Olympus (low bar but still.) he never messed with mortals just for fun, only did it when necessary, patron god of the amazons, personally killed the guy who r@ped his daughter, never cheated on anyone, nor raped anyone either. He originally was a young god of dance. Not to mention how nice and chill his Roman counterpart was, who’s arguably a more accurate representation of the god. (Arguably)
