I think there is a good middle ground between planning and letting go. "Planning your future" is a pretty big concept, that can include meticulous preparaton, trying your best to control and insure an outcome, but it can also refer to day dreaming, or prefering an outcome. And you will always have preferances -there is nothing you can do about that. Preferring this food to that food, this music to that music, this feeling to that feeling. I think it's quite alright to have plans, but insisting on a specific outcome is what trips most people up. To have a preferene (or plan), and then let go of any outcome, is where they can flow into each other, to make the mechanism whole. Stating an intent and then letting it go, focus and reception. Like flexing and relaxing a muscle, to move the body. If you only do one, the journey will be hard.

Unfortunately, few parents and kids respect education as a viable means to success. Thank you for your discussion. You have many valid points.

Loved this episode and your message, which beautifully aligns with 2 Timothy 3:16. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” His Word is all we need. Praying for you and that this episode reaches farther than anyone could imagine.

Note to product developers: If you actually want people to find and buy your product, *do not* name it after a popularly known other item... "cue ball" will only bring up BILLIARDS CUE BALLS... try as you might - "8 sided yellow and green cue balls" - you can even try with the "queue" spelling - and all you're going to find is billiards balls... VERY annoying.... when you have people interested in your product, but they can't find it, you've goofed royally...

If theres one player out on tour who you really dont want to ask about finding comfort and confidence in a flow state its rory . Man spends half of every tournament punching himself in the face , the key giveaway is when he says “ i turn to my coach and say how did i know that was going to be a great strike / shot ?” Always externally looking for praise or succour . Thats a parental issue . Tiger would never ask for an ego massage or look for belief . Flow is when no one else matters and you facilitate your subconcious , doing what you see rather than seeing what you want . Its the reason i block out players who give you praise and/ or advice , praise is addictive and you will seek it or feel lesser when its not given . The reason the guy played better on the back was he had given up on the game or expectation and allowed it to happen . Who knew that happened ?

I feel like Rory has one of the weakest mental games on tour right now… he needs to go back and watch video of him winning at the beginning of his career

It is the mind that divides sub conscious from conscious. The mind, thought, is dualistic. Being gives rise for the play of duality. You vs me etc. Our mind makes us personal, our being is impersonal. That which observes movement is itself still. Our mind looks to understand through duality, subject and object. Becoming aware of this limitation can reveal something the mind cannot grasp. What do two mirrors pressed against each other reflect…

It’s not the focus it’s the inner talk to yourself. The determination factor. Every time I’ve been practicing chipping I’ve said I’m gonna hole this and bam within a foot or hole it. I remember in football against a state champ team I was at RB and we were down a TD. I told myself I’m scoring now right here. Call came in HB Sweep I got the pitch hit twice in the back field spun out reversed direction and ran through 3 other defenders juking and ran 90 yards for a 45 yard TD. I made it happen and on the kickoff I kicked an onside kick one hop into the other teams face mask it’s all about determination and that inner voice and believing the narrative. I’ve done this same thought with my golf and only play by myself and now I’m a +4.4 handicap after only playing 5 months and hitting over 25000 balls in that time. Good talk guys

No such thing as certainty. Playing good golf doesn’t always require one to be in the “flow” state of mind. It definitely helps, but the biggest hurdle is being accepting and staying present!

Jack won eighteen majors and finished second in nineteen majors he has the most top five in majors by over twenty places of anyone in history, if you look at the pictures taken of jack shaking hands you wouldn't know if he won or came in second. That's a true goat and bobby jones was exactly the same.

Didn't have a pre swing routine, didn't practice swing parts that says a lot about the current teaching modules. Great interview by the young men and Jack's mind is incredible. Bobby Jones had a great relationship with his father, playing together once, dad hit a horrendous shot and stood before bobby and clipped the head off of a flower and said what is wrong with that swing, bobby says nothing why don't you use it sometime.😅
