I find this video very useful and relative to song writing. One of the struggles I have is when I start getting into chords that have multiple harmonies to the root. After a few chords into a possible progression, I suddenly get confused about what to try to do, since any direction I seem to go, doesn't seem right, and I don't want to simply repeat the same two chords over and over. Another thing is, I find ordinary major and minor chords quite boring and seldom ever want to play them. Sometimes I think this is when I need to considering trying to employ borrowing chords from another key.
