We run a 7250 and a 9770. Both have been great. This yr we bought a claas 8700 with 300 sep. we’ve only used it 10hrs. Break down after breakdown. Good thing we keptv9770 around

I have found turning the bulk fill up to 3400 helped on our 1255 planter or make sure you have enough graphite to keep it flowing. great video and we have been wet too and finished May 31st in SE Mn.

For your corn thats trying to push through, you may have to find a rotary hoe. We're down in the southern part of the state by Austin and i hoed about 600 acres about the second week of may. That saved our stand of corn. Got a bunch of rain again when we started bean planting but got the beans in before the holiday weekend. 2.5 inches again last weekend and waiting for it to dry up enough to replant drowned out spots and spray corn. What started out to be a good early spring for planting has turned into a struggle. Alot of guys down here had to hoe if they had one. A couple of guys borrowed ours. Good thing we have one. Its been 3 years since we last used it.

Farm work is never easy even with modern technology. If it don’t work you get upset. You could always 1 a.m. used parts run at titan just leave a note will return when done planting lol.

We still have 2 days of planting left here in west central MN. Every time it starts to dry out it rains again. We had 1.2 inches of rain a couple of days ago & it is raining again as I watch this. Looking at the radar it doesn't look good. We have a big storm rolling in the way it looks. There is a lot of red on the radar. I hope the weather straightens out for the both of us.

That was a HUGE rock! Probably hundreds of pounds. Weather really dictates what farmers can do and when. Good luck with the planting!
@MitchellFarms_MN6 ай бұрын
It was indeed a huge rock- likely have to use the excavator after harvest to get it! Weather is the boss and it is a very very huge factor in everything from planting dates to yields (our revenue source). Thank you!!!

How's planting comming along? You guys been getting hammered down there with rain?
@MitchellFarms_MN6 ай бұрын
We are 90% planted but need one more day to finish. Yes, rains constantly so far. Planting corn we had a 19 day stretch of no planting due to rain and we just wrapped up a 10 day rain out… and then planted 1 day before it rained again. Guessing 5 more days before we finish if we are lucky.

Minor setback in the life of farming bud. You are doing a tremendous job all in all. If you are not experiencing breakdowns from time to time, you are not working hard enough 😁😁. I'll close this with keep on doing what you are doing because your heart is in it.
