Well done, nice looking PRU Spit. I'm just working on Airfix 72nd scale Spit PR XIX. What make is the PRU blue color you used? It looks pretty right!
@57hound Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind comment. I’m sorry, but I can’t remember the brand of PRU Blue I used. Maybe an inquiry on Britmodeller will get you some good advice.

Re wing dihedral. Hurricanes have a flat centre section, and dihedral on the outer wing panels, outboard of the UC legs.

@57hound3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Unfortunately I can’t help you with the tweezers-no brand name etched on them. I’ve had them for so long I can’t remember where they came from. Try searching online for “quality tweezers”.

love your model, and at least you didn't feel the need to weather the bird like it had been maintained by a crew that hated it like a lot of models today. I will be using the plasticard fill method on mine when I get around to building it, thanks.

Have a 1:48 Hasagawa Typhoon still unopened. Good tips about the fit. Built a Revell P 40 long time ago. A lot of putty used. Did enough chipping effect and black wash to make it look good.

Great build !!! Learned a lot from this video . What kind of filler do you use ? Hope you have a great Holiday Season ! Tony
@57hound5 жыл бұрын
Tony Perez Thanks Tony! I’m glad you found the video I helpful. The filler is Acryl Blue, which is apparently no longer made. It is a solvent based, very fine grained auto body putty. It’s relatively fast curing, has minimal shrinkage, and feathers out very well when wet sanding. If you are looking for something similar, I suppose any automotive “spot” or “glazing” putty would be about the same. Though I haven’t used it myself, I’ve heard good things about Tamiya White. All the best to you and yours for the holidays and have a great 2020!

Nice video and excellent tips. I find that the method you used for the inserts work for all kinds of situations in model aircraft building. Every one I build I do one portion of a time on the fuselage and rarely have trouble. The end product looks great too!
@57hound5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments! Like you, I do the same thing on all long seams, gluing just a little bit at a time. It’s so much more controllable that way, helping to avoid so many problems.

Peter Cavellini Thanks for your suggestion. I’m thinking some of the shots would also be better with a different angle. Right now I’m kind of limited by the equipment at hand, but I’m tossing around a few ideas. We’ll see what happens.

Thanks for the positive comment. The sanding tool is the Flex-i-File, available at www.flex-i-file.com, and maybe elsewhere. There are 4 or 5 different grits available, ranging from coarse to very fine (600 grit?).
@davidbettis66645 жыл бұрын
what glue is in the white and blue container?
@amoaero22795 жыл бұрын
It's Faller Expert glue. It's thicker than liquid solvent cement but much thinner than old fashioned tube glue. I like using it when the capillary action of liquid cement might not be the best choice. Unlike tube glue, Faller dries very quickly, and it doesn't "string". Faller also makes a Super Expert glue which dries even quicker. Thanks for watching and for your question.

I've decided to get one for kit bashing with a dakkajet from games workshop, I think it will go with the British rock/metal theme when i combine the kits. Hoping to get 2 planes out of it. But seeing you put one together makes me want to order another. Ha
