Thank you for this information. We also were having E14 error although a few months ago we were getting E18 error. I have just ordered the Reed Switch from Bosch and have confidence this will fix our issue. Our dishwasher repair man wanted to charge a call out fee of AUS$135 then charge by the hour to take it apart and check before repairing. He said it sounded like the board which would be around $400 just for the part. Our model is SMS50M28AU/B3.
@Maxi00720072 жыл бұрын
Just try to change that Reed Switch it costs you maybe 30$ but it may solve the problem forever, hope it works out, good luck and let me know 😁
@lindaguy14772 жыл бұрын
I thought we may also need a flow meter however the lady at Bosch said our model did not have a flow meter and it was the Reed Switch that was doing the work. It cost AUS$35 including postage. It arrived today. Before installing the new one, my husband pulled out the old one and gave it a gentle clean and put it back in. We ran a cycle and still got the 'check water' not long after the cycle started. It completed the cycle and then we still had the E14 error. So we installed the new part and did another cycle. YIPPEE ALL FIXED. Thank you for your help. May I just say we also have a Bosch washing machine. Recently it was playing up. I usually change the temperature and spin time but it was not allowing my to do this though it was still washing as per the factory set cycles. My husband pulled out the control board and noticed a copious amount of cockroach poo and smelt cockroach wee. He noticed the poo had been left on places on the board so he gently cleaned the board. He thought this could have affected the controls. He put it all back together and voila the machine worked perfectly again allowing me to change the temperature and spin cycle. So when our dishwasher started playing up he wondered if it was the same with the cockroach invasion. He also took the main power board out but all looked ok. So after our search we then realised it was the Reed switch. Cockroaches have been inside our dishwasher so it is highly likely they were the cause of the Reed Switch fail. It has lifted our confidence in the Bosch brand knowing it is not a fault of the machine but the pestie cockroaches getting in and doing damage.

Thanks heaps Maxis117, your video helped me to fix Error E18 on my machine. Your video is the only video explaining the possible solution for E18 by replacing the flow meter sensor reed switch. In my case it did the trick. My machine looks almost exactly the same as yours, but it is the Australian version, SMS50E38AU. So I ordered from Bosch Australia the genuine replacement part 00611317 (flow-through meter contact reed switch) for AU$35 delivered. I just installed the new reed switch and just finished the first wash test and the problem E18 seems to be fixed. Your video saved me from dumping the machine in the rubbish tip, and from having to buy a new one. Thanks mate, you are a champion. Cheers. By the way, your English is very good.
@lindaguy14772 жыл бұрын
It seems like we must have had the same issue. We got the E18 error first awhile ago but the machine continued to wash so we didn't really do anything. Then down the track the E14 started and eventually it would not go beyond rinsing the dishes. We really believe it was cockroaches that caused the damage. Inside our machine was loaded with cockroach poo so while the machine was apart we sprayed copious amounts of flyspray hoping this will deter them. We are also going to take the side panel out again and put baits inside the machine. Hope this helps you too. See my post above about our Bosch washing machine.

Ciao, io la stessa lavastoviglie... la mia però si spegne e basta e poi riparte ... o almeno cerca di farlo, dopo un po si rispegne e non riesce a completare il lavaggio... mi puoi dare un consiglio ?
@Maxi00720072 жыл бұрын

I Had the same issue. I bought a new sensor too but that did not help. However, when looking at the machine when it was taking in water, I noticed that the wheel behind the sensor was not moving, so as water was coming in, the sensor is then not reading any movement in the wheel. The wheel has a magnet in it, that interacts with the sensor, so I though I would just take another magnet and see if i could make the wheel turn. I removed the sensor first, the wheel was stuck, but after 2 minutes of playing with the magnet, the wheel started turning. I put the sensor back and now when the machines is taking in water, it spins ok. So now the machine is working properly. So in my case I probably did not need a new sensor after all. So check if the flow meter wheel is turning before you buy a new flow sensor. I guess the flow wheel gets clogged up with calcium deposits over time.

@@Maxi0072007 I have a small dish washer that has E14 error. When I opened my machine, I can find the little wheel thing there. I can move the wheel with a magnet, so I think the sensor is not working. In my case, the sensor is attached from the other side of the translucent plastic pipes system. That means I can remove the sensor by pulling out the whole plastic system. My question is: do you have an experience in taking that plastic pipe system out? Do I just pull that thing by force or there is some skill to remove it? I was afraid to make a crack to the plastic pipe system, I assembled the machine back without repairing. :- (

Hi am having issues with my dishwasher. Getting frequent e18. Got e14 once. I may try to.change the contact. One question at 4.13 min you spoke about the dirt. Mine looks very dirty. Are we able to open the housing to clean this? Do you know? I could try with this first. Also do you notice when u get e 18 and open the door in mid cycle there is water that had not been drained...so is this a drain pump issue? Or is there always some balance water in the sump. I wonder as i do hear & see the machine drain then suddenly when its refilling it goes into e18 error stops filling. When i open the door there is still some water in the sump...so are there 2 problems? Water flow and drain? Thanks in advance for your help

I had all problems you said, try mine method cause it costs you something like 30€, i dont know if you can clean inside that dirt i saw other tutorials but its not so easy cause you need to unmount everything, the last and bigger problem could be water pump problem but you can leave it for last like i did, 1 contact 2 dirt inside If not work 3 water pump or other problem idk Sorry i'm not an expert, that's all i can help you with, good luck mate 😉
