This song feels so different after watching the documentary on her life, when you realise she is talking about her relationship with David Niehaus. They had met in Brazil and grew incredibly close. He couldn't handle her life style and said he wanted to continue his travels without her in his life. I personally think a lot of the songs from Pearl are about their relationship. God bless Janis Joplin <3

Elvis wanted this song but they wanted it right out and her not have ownership or rights to it, she loved Elvis but politely declined. She said it's made her a lot of money especially since Whitney did it, kind of revived people's interest in the song. She sang it but it's Dolly's song. She is a very smart business woman. I'm born and raised in Northeastern Tennessee, she gives to her community and their little ones as well. She is a superhero! Our love be for her will never dwindle. I'd love to meet her and just have a good ol country conversation with her. Like two neighbors on the front porch would do. 🤣❤️

Thank you so much for posting this! I bought this single at a used record store years ago & was totally knocked out by it... then so sad that radio ignored it totally. Should've marked a comeback for her. That along with "Never Been A Horse"

I heard it first from Whitney Huston, but knowing it was dolly Parton who wrote it makes me appreciate her more than before.
