I haven’t specifically bought both. But I can recommend buying the tiger ice dots which allow you to very the amount of contact your mouse has with the pad by adjusting the amount and position of each dot. They are also around the same price as buying full pads and can be used on multiple mice.

Great review. I have over 1000 hours on my 27GR95QE as well. I do try to baby it a bit- dark mode, hiding the windows taskbar, etc... But I game in HDR quite a bit and use it for content consumption. So far I'm beyond impressed. And 1440p for gaming has hopefully added a few more years of longevity onto my RTX 3080. Thanks again for sharing!

Guys... OLED gaming has been affordable for YEARS now. Just buy the LG OLED 42" C2 for example. Thats around 600-800 bucks depending on sales. You get a high end panel instead of "1st gen monitor panel"s. Super bright. Exactly as wide as a typical 34" widescreen monitor. It also supports your consoles with HDMI 2.1. It has built in sound. It has TONS of options to make the image just like you want. It has 3 ms latency in 120hz mode. If you compare the specs and what you get from an LG C2 vs any of those "gaming OLED monitors" - then the OLED monitors are SO BAD - that they should realistically cost under 500€. It just makes ZERO sense to buy monitors like the ones mentioned in the video - when for the same price you get a brand new LG C2 42". Better image, higher resolution, better HDR (dolby vision, HGIG), better features, super customizable, can also be used as a TV or with consoles, LG TVs has been tested and optimzed against burnin for many years - proven track record of "no issues"... Just because its labeled as a TV - dont let yourself be fooled. The LG C2 is just as capable as any other OLED monitor - except for the limit of 120hz refresh rate. But realistically... except for esports games... you dont get over 120 fps in games anyways. I own a beast PC with a 4090 and still barely get over 100 fps in most modern games.

I think there are a number of things you are overlooking in your comment. This is coming from someone who loves OLED tech and thought about switching to a 43in C1 years ago. The largest factor against someone buying a c2 OLED vs an OLED monitor is that they don’t want a 42in TV on their desk. Besides the fact that i don’t want a 42in screen on my desk, I am not interested in a +$600 monitor that is only 120 hz, for a TV this is fine, for my gaming monitor this is not. Also the resolution being 1440 paired with a higher refresh rate is an advantage for those who would like to game on their monitor at high frame rates without having the best PC performance available. Also the track record for zero burn in has been for TVs displaying TV content, not for TVs displaying static monitor content. I owned an LG C7 for years that eventually burned in naturally over time under normal use, it happens, it make take thousands of hours but this process will be accelerated when viewing static content and progress has been made against this in the last half decade of OLED tech. It just makes ZERO sense for me to buy an LG 42 in tv when for the same price I get, higher pixel density, an easier to drive resolution, higher refresh rate, and the fact that I am buying something that was designed to be a monitor first.

The 42" OLED has the same width then a typical 34" widescreen monitor. Its just a bit taller. Most people would LOVE that. Because its much more immersive and has less problems with games (still lots of games have issues with widescreen even in 2024). ... Wtf I just realized these are 27".... and they want 800€ for that ??? Wtf... lol... Are you using a magnifying glas with them? Or are you seated like 30cm in front of those? ... 27" ... in 2024 as a gaming monitor ... for 800 bucks ... wtf ... What a SCAM ! And you recommend this? ... very strange - is this like a scam where you promote shitty products where you get a slice of the sale through affiliate? Also the jump from 60 to 120 hz is massive - while the jump from 120 to 240 is tiny. You will not get 240hz in most modern titles anyways - even 120fps is hard to reach with a 4090. 240hz is only good for esports (CS2, Rocket League, Fortnite, etc). And yes, 240 is better then 120 - very true! But its just a "who cares" argument unless you play esports. For EVERYTHING else you would value picture quality over "more then 120 frames". 100% always. With 4k 120hz vs 1440p 240hz - in terms of picture quality 4k wins by a LARGE margin! It makes a HUGE difference.

@@m4ko288 I think you make some good points, but still lack the perspective of the people who are interested in a 27in OLED. TL:DR it sounds like you want a truck for the towing capacity and can’t fathom why anyone would spend the same amount of money for a sports car with the same horsepower. 1. A taller 34in monitor does sound appealing, but a 34in monitor is about 31in wide, while a 42in monitor is about 36.6in wide, this is a lot of space when talking about a desk, most people are uninterested for that reason alone. 2. About these being 27in, I am currently reviewing the 32in LG 4k 240hz OLED and I am having issues adjusting to its size when playing games competitively. 27in was much easier to adapt to, but I have having trouble with the 32in. I could see the productivity benefits of a 42in and would be interested for that reason, but not for gaming which is what this 27in monitor is meant for. 3. I don’t think this monitor is worth 800 USD currently, the video recommends at $600 but waiting for a cheaper price in the future. I don’t provide any affiliate links for the monitor nor do I have any connections with LG so I have no stake in what viewers choose to buy at the end of the day. 4. 240hz is the minimum refresh rate that I am into when paying for a top end monitor, I get 240 fps on all the games that I am currently playing on my 4k 240hz display, I think for 1440p I will be looking into a 360hz display in the future once prices come down. This comes down to the games you play, but I could see how this would not be worth it for you. Overall, I think you are missing the mark for what people looking for a 27in gaming monitor are looking for. Sounds like this monitor is not for you and that’s ok.

4k gaming makes you spend MUCH more on GPU than you "overpay" for an OLED PC Monitor. Also don't pretend that 42" is not a mental use-case for a monitor if you sit 2-3 feet away from it. Yes, OLED TVs are more "cost efficient" because they have Economy of Scale on their side. And OLED Monitors still cost more "per inch" since they are produced in much smaller quantities. P.S. And difference between 240Hz and 120Hz is VERY noticeable in FPS, don't lie to yourself that 120hz is just as good. And the kicker is it's MUCH cheaper to drive 1440p@240 than 4k@120, you don't need to buy 4090 for that. Saving on this GPU alone can allow you to buy EXTRA TV)))
@m4ko288

@@baka_ja_nai I am not saying that 240hz is not better then 120 - just that it doesnt matter. For fast paced action games like Helldivers 2 for example - you wont get 240fps anyways - and even if - you would rather have more eye candy then the extra fps. And yes of course 2160p needs more horsepower then 1440p or 1080p. But it also looks MUCH!!! better. Especially in games with high detail (e.g. Cyberpunk, Witcher, AAA games, etc) or high view distance (Helldivers, GTA, etc). Its SO MUCH easier to hit bots that are 200m away in Helldivers on 4k then on 1440p. My friend I play Helldivers2 with couldnt understand why I play SO much better then him - until he visited me and saw what I play with on a daily basis. Perfekt examples are PS5 / SeriesX - which are about the power of a medium gaming PC with a 4060. They are so weak that most AAA content is being rendered at 1080p / 1440p which is then upscaled to 4k. And it looks SO mushy and blotchy. The difference of 2160p to 1440p is MUCH more worth it then 240hz is to 120hz! Unless you are a sweaty e-Sports gamer who plays on lowest settings anways! I would never go back to such unsharp picture quality. And I totally look forward to displays that go beyond 4k like the Apple cinema display. 4k > 240hz !!!!

From what I have read online the panel gets brighter in SDR modes, for HDR the experience was described as an un noticeable difference by some. I would not recommend this monitor over something like the Alienware OLED at the price of $900, but for $659 the value is definitely there.

This monitor is bad. The lack of brightness is significant enough to not only affect HDR content but also regular usage. It’s only barely acceptable in a pitch black room. I’d rather wait for other monitors to price drop than touch this one.
@bradslice
@bradslice Ай бұрын
The brightness is not an issue for me. I have a window next to my desk and sometimes think “yeah this could be a bit brighter”, but it’s not like the display is ruined by this. Most of the time I use this monitor I have the brightness set between 60-80% because in a darker room even with lamps on this monitor is plenty bright. If you really care for HDR peak brightness or overall brightness I would recommend the QD OLEDS over this one, but for me that is almost non factor when comes to my personal experience.
@bradslice
@bradslice Ай бұрын
My experience is that this monitor is plenty bright. I used this at a LAN where the lights were on in a room with a sliding glass door during the day time, and this monitor still looked excellent enough to wow my friends. The specs are lower than others true, but the wow factor is still there, the price is also considerably lower.
@arondyte318
@arondyte318 Ай бұрын
@@bradsliceAgreed. I have the 45inch version (LG 45GR95QE-B) and despite having “low brightness”, I only use it at 80% in SDR as the whites are eye searingly bright already at that level during the daytime in both natural and artificial lighting. Funnily enough, I also had the MSI 321URX QD-OLED monitor at one point but I returned it because despite being brighter, the reflection handling was terrible due to being a glossier display and the blacks would turn purple even in a moderately lit room. It looked phenomenal in a dark room though but not worth the asking price when it only works well in pitch darkness.

HDMI 2.0 cables, sometimes I had issues so I went an bought different looking cables on AMZ that I knew would work every time so I could tell them apart from a standard black HDMI. If you’re having issues with contrast check the cables, then check your color settings in elgato software and the settings in the properties menus in OBS. Check the range from “limited” to “full” or the other way around. You can also check your graphics card menu for displaying 8 bit, 10 bit, 12bit signals that might mess with the look of the output, change this to 8bit for compatibility with the capture card.
