You´d just use em as alternative paguebearer models, to have a little more variety and newer skulpts :) a lot of the demon fascination is the variety of models in the army!

Imo using contrast paints has little to do with painting, but nowadays it seems like its the standard for painting nurgle demons, so its kinda shocking to look at minis, that are painted without it. You know what i mean?
@adamshobbystuff3 күн бұрын
I think I understand the point, I have a mate who does a lot of Khorne daemons, all using washes and they look stunning, that would be the old school equivalent of contrast, he paints his marines using ‘normal’ paints, similarly I use contrast for daemons and ‘normal’ paints for my marines, I guess it’s the type of model suits the wash/contrast method? I can’t see myself doing marines etc in a contrast scheme but you never know, equally I can’t see myself going back to normal pints for my daemons, you can definately get better results with standard paints if you are a high level painter but I think contrast gets you most of the way there in a lot less time and effort!
@Cordhosenconaisseur2 күн бұрын
@@adamshobbystuff Thx for the reply! For my demons army I tried a different approach, i play nurgle/khorne demonengine heavy, and its my only army so far, i wanted to have a unified look, so i went for bluish/burned flesh/dark green armor for all of them, certainly something that makes traditionalists raise a brow, but i really like it :)

I love your Death Guard content! As soon as I'm done with my Tyranids, I'm starting my second Death Guard army. What basing paint/ material are you using in this video?
@adamshobbystuff8 күн бұрын
The bases are just painted and treated like the rest of the model, these are the special moulded scenic bases, usually I make my own but though that these would work well. Second Death Guard army sounds good, more nurgle always welcome in the world!

Love the scheme as always. One thing that I've seen others do, and may be worth trying next time you paint death guard, is spraying silver, and then using a brown or yellow contrast to make it brown. I've seen others have a lot of success with that, and may end up faster than going back over silver with a gold
@adamshobbystuff10 күн бұрын
Worth an experiment, I’ve really gotten into contrast paints over the last year or so, much more versatile than they at first appeared.

May i ask why we need gloss varnish?
@adamshobbystuff16 күн бұрын
You don’t need it as such but it gives a more even surface and so the transfer adheres slightly better, if you’ve done a more textured paint scheme it really helps, smoother paint less so.

@adamshobbystuff17 күн бұрын
I’ve seen a few people rumouring that one, nothing official and there’s no way GW would get rid of the army in totality, the most popular rumours seem to be either they will put the nurgle daemons into the nurgle CSM codex ie Death guard or they will release separate ones like they did in age of sigmar. Either way wouldn’t be an issue for me, they have done similar with the deathwatch recently and to be honest I think that fits that particular force quite well.

Glad it was useful, I’ve also got a series of videos on the channel where I build a couple of reaver titans, in those videos I cover pinning joints etc which isn’t something I did on this warhound due to the pose, could be useful if you’re going to do more than the stops up straight pose.
@BobbyYeah-q2l23 күн бұрын
@ Okay I’ll have to check those out. Right now I’m using your build as a step by step guide which is really nice. The glue then green stuff then combine pieces after test fitting and marking is such a good idea. Also I’ve incorporated the cross hatch scoring on the models area before gluing on more basic kits and those stick together even better. Anyways thank you again, it’d be way way harder without any of these techniques and video demonstration
