Good comparison but on the MEEDEN paper you can see that you used a great deal more water with the Daniel smith paint than you did with the MEEDEN. I would love to see someone actually measure the water, amount of paint and size of area properly in a comparison because there’s always some big differences with amount of water etc

How do these layer over watercolor? I want to try these for texture over watercolor or sum kind of mixed media and I just don’t want to lose the watercolor while using these!

Love this, I'm trying to mix more of my colours and happy to see green gold. Thank you. A tip from me to you: You can open the tube at the bottom and still use the paint left inside. It won't matter if it dries out, still works great. I usually seal bottom with tape and keep the tube in a sealable bag or wrap in foil. Can also make slit at top of tubes that dry out.
@JillWilliamsWatercolor2 ай бұрын
@@ritaparker478 most definitely! I just need more than the last traces. But anytime we can open the tubes for that last bit, the better!

Just found this video - I am grateful to 'hike' the South Rim trail with you on my laptop. It was difficult for me to even watch several points where trail slanted so close to the edge. Beautiful scenery, and just loved the closeup of the flowers along the way

I'm a beginner, so for me it's all about putting in the hours and the $$$ to get there. DS... $10- $15 a tube, Meeden $1/tube. ❤😂 I really appreciate the analysis. It helps me to see what I'm looking at.❤

I love my Meeden watercolor! It was my first step up from watercolor that had no pigment information. Because of the price, I felt free to make huge juicy puddles of watercolor. As a beginner they have been great for 'follow alongs', practic/ exercises, and cards. It's really amazing how bright the colors stay when the paint is dry. Thank you so much for a critical analysis of the paints and the papers. It's helpful and I appreciate it. ❤😊

Same here....I really enjoy it for drawing as well. The Meeden performs really well in my own tests, and I'll likely start using both for hot press, and using the Meeden cold press for plein air.

Thank you for this. I don't want to haul tripod and easel, so your minimal set up is quite a delight. I do take along a light weight stadium seat that supports my back so I can sit almost anywhere.

Omg this is perfect, exactly what I was looking for! I’m already halfway there with how I do my stuff I’ve just never known before how easy it is to just smash it all on a clipboard! And clipping the towel to the backside? Genius. I love both these setups 100% (also I do have multiple little tin and altoid to go palettes haha, I’m actually wondering what I could put on the inside lids to get a smooth white waterproof surface for blending though… like a white paint and some kind of resin or spray coating/modpodge overtop?)

I’m a retired engineer newbie at sketching, I found this very efficient, simple and doable. Super idea. I saw someone’s suggestion to have a sock cuff on your wrist when using the “ultra small” setup. All good. Only thing missing is a spot for coffee ha ha

Thanks! What hue is the titanium grey in reality? It looks quite a warm neutral green on my screen, like my Cotman raw umber(great for limestone/rocks), but I know screens skew colour a lot.
@JillWilliamsWatercolor6 ай бұрын
thanks for watching! Grey Titanium is a neutral soft grey with some opacity...it's literally titanium oxide that hasn't had other white colorants like zinc or chalk added. It's best for a base layer as it's semi-transparent and won't glaze well. I hope that helps!
