How do you determine buying a 20' or 30' length rope?
@AZWESTSIDEWHEELERS2 күн бұрын
That’s going to be preference and needs. I prefer the extra distance between rigs. But it can be a bit of a pain in certain instances being a bit too long. So you’ll have to determine how you expect to use it. Hope that is helpful.

Does the vehicle being towed stay in drive or neutral?
@AZWESTSIDEWHEELERS16 күн бұрын
I would say drive and giving it gas to help out. But not so much throttle that you spin the holes Deeper. You want to help the tow vehicle out so they don’t get stuck as well. Plus if needed air down to 15 psi or a little less in sand always helps.

There seems to be a misunderstanding of energy... The xj only weighs so much... And it's energy in motion(kinetic) is what it is... The other end doesn't matter... You do not need to upsize the rope based on the dead weight.. if the xj can generate 16k lbs of energy... That's what it makes... Regardless of it being attached to an immovable stump.. or a wrangler.

You don't need to use a different rope for that "little Toyota." Thats ridiculous. Most people aren't going to carry a multitude of sizes, nor is it necessary. I you think you need more shock absorption, there are simple ways to get that while still using the same rope. .

5:10 Dang, so I'm wondering if the 1" I just ordered for my Gladiator and my Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is overkill? They are stock on 33s. I can change the order to 7/8" if it's preferable. What say you? 💯🔥🤙We drive in Florida sugar sand (think "soft beach sand") and hills and mud ruts. 🌴
@AZWESTSIDEWHEELERSАй бұрын
Well a little extra is never bad vs underrated and breakage. Sand and mud add extra resistance adding to the weight of your rig. Plus it’s a Jeep it will NEVER stay stock haha.

Hi, I am in the same boat, trying to decide if 7/8 is more suited for a 4 door Jeep JL on 33s vs 1in rope. It seems the 7/8 will provide more stretch based on the Jeeps weight? What did you decide. Thx

@@gcjctc2 I bought a 1" x 30' kinetic rope. I think it'll work for me in the JLU. Maybe I'll take it out soon to test but that's the size I went with. On my channel we pulled a CR-V with a tiny marine rope he had lol but it worked!

So I would worry if you bought one and it failed that you might have stuff in your tank that is plugging it or problems with your lines stuff in them or them deteriorating on you from rust. I would start there if this next one fails completely empty the tank clean it out visually inspect and make sure no metal pieces or anything in there and then fill it back up.

my suv is 5600 pounds is 1 inch better choice than 7/8?
@AZWESTSIDEWHEELERSАй бұрын
Well, underrated you always worry about breakage if you are stuck deep in the mud, the suction can double your weight. With a rope that is a little overrated. It might not be as smooth on the rubber band Feel when someone is tugging you out, but you never have to worry. That’s my take on the subject. I would say 1 inch but that depends on your application if you’re talking dry dirt roads in a little bit of sand you never have to worry about that suction but if you hook to your 10,000 pound buddy for some odd reason, you have to worry with a smaller rope. Personally, I would go 1 inch and never have to worry who or what I hooked to. If you’re hooking to something light, make it an easier jerk because the rope won’t flex as much.

Just ordered a 1PS for my 2014 Subie Foz XT. Only thing I would criticize Mictuning for, is that the "strobe" actually is more of a "flash" or "blink". They added a 4th mode that is more strobe-like now (November 2024). Since this uses a microcontroller or similar, I would like an option to adjust the strobe/flash frequency from 1 to 16 flashes per second. You can always add a strobe relay to one steady output, but it could easily be incorporated into the firmware instead.

I'll reply here too. I think at the time I was just trying to find out if there was a normal positive switching device available. They did send me another and it was switching the positive. It only lasted for about ten months and then started going crazy. Randomly honking horns and flashing lights. I just finished replacing it. I hope this one survives.
