I was in the air force when this movie came out. Watched it at the drive-in in my '68 Mustang.... What a ride! Steve Mcqueen was freaking awesome...every movie he was in.

This film, plus The French Connection, plus The Seven ups, the three best car chases in film history. What do they have in common? Bill Hickman.

Zo dom dat die groene kever vier keer wordt ingehaald in 30 sec en dan noemen ze dit de beste auto achtervolging die kever is dus tien keer sneller 😂😂😂😂

This whole chase scene was about what? There was no prize and no meaningful purpose for it and it made Steve look like a winner! But, of what?

Ahh,the sound of those fat lazy V8's.Can you imagine what a car chase with EVs would be like? About as exciting as watching grass grow during a drought

Never seen this movie and it’s definitely before my time but today I was at the laundromat and this exact scene was playing like i literally caught it at this part. Needless to say I was impressed. The driving, camera work, and coordination of the chase is incredible. Also, I don’t think San Francisco has seen an open road like this in the over 30yrs with all the traffic they have on the daily now.

The only thing bad about this car chase scene is that the Mustang has the equivalent of about a 12-speed manual transmission.

One of the best ever, especially for rev heads. Right from the start, when Steve starts up the beast, it turns over a few times before catching, and then that rumble. In my opinion the best 10 minutes of acting ever filmed. Nobody said a word but the intensity was there. The soundtrack was spot on. Enjoy seeing all the classic cars and landmarks as the chase unfolds. What a great fucking sequence, I just wish the soundtrack music was much quieter to let us hear the real music even better ;)

This was one of my dad's favorite movies. I haven't seen any part of it since I was a child and I have to say now as a 40+ year old adult that the sense of danger in this chase is extraordinarily real. The sound of those cars, the suspension, the body hitting the tarmac, the danger of the traffic. You can almost smell it, feel it just from watching. Absolutely engrossing and terrifying. Incredible filmmaking.
