My sons team uses this and it’s great for a few reasons. Nobody sees it, so nobody’s that good at stopping it and all the competitors run a variation of the same spread offense, most of them without the players to do it. It translates to you don’t have to have the best team to have winning seasons. Some games, the average drive is three plays until they score a td. It’s that effective. While you watch other teams struggle trying to pass because they don’t have the qb, or guys who can catch and get separation, or an extremely fast back that can be effective in a slow developing spread run play that begins seven yards back. In the spread, by the a back reaches the los, the entire defense knows who has it and where. It takes amazing backs in that offense.

Personally didn't run it in school but after I graduated a new coach came and installed the WT and they had success with it for almost a decade until he left. The offense left with him and they havnt had a winning season since 2009. They been trying to run the spread since. Best season since that year was a 4-5 a couple years ago.

My son played on a spread team last year. It’s dismal if you don’t have good talent in all the positions. Now it’s the T and 50 points a game. I don’t understand why coaches feel it’s so necessary to run a college offense and lose lots of game each year doing it. It’s an ego thing I believe.

What’s the difference between the power T and the wing T? This looks more like a power T with the 3 backs lined up horizontally. I thought the wing T usually has two backs with one to the side of the other back then a wing back by the tackle? Either way it’s an awesome offense. Just needed clarification because this is what I want to run.

Pennfield used the Wing T for a lot of years and has a State Championship with it. It's fun watching good Wing T teams. Climax Scotts went to the Wing T and made themselves a good high school football school. Constantine has always been a powerhouse football program.

I really like this offense however its not a wing t, simply because they don't have a wingback on the field...however it has a lot of wingt's features like fakes and misdirection so Its quite similar

This Eric Fischer dude must want to run the spread or something and has something against pounding the rock on the ground. At the highschool I coach at we went 9-2 in 16 with a 1500 yard all state back then this past year in 17 we went 8-3 with a 1500 yard halfback and a 1900 yard fullback. Sometimes you have to use the scheme/adjust your offense to what players you have. And we ran the old school delaware t, our best plays were trap/sweep/(g) down and then our criss cross and waggle. I would love to get my hands on some of this material to put it to use to give us a different look.
@ericfischer6655 жыл бұрын
Oh no I'm very much for pounding the rock. In fact I favour the flexbone offense.
@briansass48655 жыл бұрын
Then you should look at loose red 100 formation and 40 series plays. That's Deleware Wing T nomenclature for the flexbone. It's an offensive system. Not a formation.
If you weren't in the room with Knute Rockne or Amos Alonzo Stagg, then you would know that everything in football is stolen or plagiarized to an extent. It's all about what defining what your system is and how well you can teach it and get your players to execute.

Cry me a river, schools were and continue dropping MENDON HS off their schedule! Why you ask? Schools were and still are tired of losing to Mendon during the regular season. You're whining about a clean program from top to bottom, Mendon High School is made up of country/farm boys. As far as "bad mouthing" another program, the video wasn't badmouthing anyone. It was showing the preparation Mendon, Michigan puts into their football program. From grade-school (Pee Wee/Rocket) football, Mendon lays the foundation in which they build upon thru Jr high school and up to being Seniors graduating high school. I say, "Put your purse down, tighten up your boot straps and do something about it"! You don't like Mendon Football because the football program is successful. It's called hard work, farm boys still do it every day, both hours BEFORE school and AFTER their chores end at night...

Disappointed in the ragged look of the Eagles helmets. I understand battle scars, but we were REQUIRED to wash and wax our helmets, back in the day of the old solid silver. Maybe it's time to update the logo and/or style.

Wow, ignorance us bliss. Definitely wing-t football. No one ever said they were Delaware wing-t, but if it smells like a Blue Hen. Main three plays series in this offense are a combination of 20, 30 and 80 series (trap, power, keepout). And defensive gurus head to Michigan and play these teams. Very tough offense to defend. A simple approach of "read the guards" just does not work. You need to...
@ericfischer6656 жыл бұрын
Jeff Scissors read guards squeeze tightends down hella hard and most importantly don't get trapped
@kielweiss36066 жыл бұрын
That's true against any offense.

This is where the defenses under Bo Schembechler would try to essentially plug the holes by angling down and submarining the offensive linemen. A skill which nowadays has disappeared, as offensive linemen use their hands. But, the Army over the last 10 years had perfected, as they're outweighed by 30-40 pounds per man.
@Steven3139 жыл бұрын
Completely useless in my opinion if you play a team who's defensive coach isn't dumb.

+cvandenberg15 I was on a Wing T team that went 4-5, we played the State Champs from a devision above us from across the state(Livonia-Clarinceville) and we ran for over 500 yards and won. One play our fullback ran 1 yard away from their safety who then ran away from him. They didn't know who had the ball, unless you see the T on a regular basis it is impossible to defend.
@ericfischer6656 жыл бұрын
Nathan Crapo the team you played was very undisciplined I guarantee you

"Twenty-five years tradition"???? Man, I could have sworn I played on the last undefeated football team EVER at Constantine in the fall of 1974. That's 40 years ago, for those in White Pigeon. ;-) Our team was recently inducted into the "Constantine Sports Hall-Of-Fame" as a matter of fact. So why did this person in the video say this is a 25 year tradition?
@freakathletics9 жыл бұрын
That's how long coach Rimer has been with the varsity program. There's a lot of history in Constantine, we even interviewed coach Horn in another video that we are currently editing.
