Nikolai Chelnokov, Galina Karableva and little Anton Chelnokov (he was six years old). They are Russian circus artists. Nikolai Chelnokov obtained a Circus Director diploma from the famous GITIS theater institute in Moscow.

I wish I got to experience the big top version of this show. I saw it in the arena back in early 2020, and granted there are some things that I liked in the newer version over this, such as the projections on the wall, the aerial straps music, foot juggling as the first act rather than hand balancing, and the cradle act. But the texture in the wall, the giant netting in the backdrop with the holes, the unique stage shape, the band being visible, the giant web during contortion, and being under the big top just adds so much!

I think Oleg Ouchakov and Tatiana Gousarova are the acrobats shown in the picture. Both of them are Cirque du Soleil veteran performers who appeared in previous productions. While searching for any Corteo Acro-Duet video, I ran across an earlier banquine-cortortion 2010 video with Oleg Ouchakov and Tatiana Gousarova in Acro-Duet costumes. Ouchakov and Gousarova's act alternates between acrobatic lifts and her contortion act on the same spindle platform she used in Ka. The Ouchakov-Gousarova act uses the same music as the rotating diabolo act. That implies before Evgeniya Astashkina - Anton Glazkov's 2014 choreography, Acro-Duet started as an rotating acro-contortion act. Ouchakov and Gousarova' might have planned a revised choreography shown in the August 2010 video. If any can point me to some clearer Acro-Duet video, I would be grateful. @@thomasglenchur7326 The first video you linked is more strictly a Handbalancing act, which was a temporary rotational act in Corteo in 2010. I don't know of any videos with Oleg and Tatiana, as Acro Duet in Corteo ran through many different sets of acrobats until its retirement in 2015.

If the show ever goes away, they need to bring it back as your way of retelling the story of Disney and Pixar's A Bug's Life. Also, they need to put slack wire and foot juggling back into the show. Cuz not only their classic acts, but it makes it so a little longer.

I hope Cirque du Soleil will bring Varekai back sometime in the future as Alegria was brought back. First time I heard Zara was on Varekai DVD, I cried hearing her voice😣🥺, what a beautiful voice, if you (Zara) ever read this message, know that your voice touches humans in so many different feelings, I wish you the best wherever you are and whatever you are following in your life, I hope we’ll have the pleasure to hear you again someday.
