This is really a great teacher of screenwriting. I'm a novelist trying to transition to screenwriting. A screenwriter hurt my feelings by saying I was a great novelist but a terrible screenwriter. I mean, did I want him to lie to me? I'm not giving up; she, the teacher mentioned above, is a tremendous help.

I write how people talk. In an everyday conversation people mis-pronounce they use slang, they use “is” they do everything the wrong way that we learn. You can’t write a dialogue the way you write a paper for a grade. Write as if you and an imaginary friend are sitting down having a conversation about whatever is taking place in the story at that moment.

Best video on screenplay writing that I've ever seen! Thank you! Can't wait to start this new journey!!!

The hero's journey beats are so oddly specific. It would take the wind out of me if I am writing just to hit every specific beat of this formula instead of just organically coming up with what happens next.

I dunno, many people irl just revels in being evil. Putin, the China leader whose name I cannot mention. The cop who knee'd George Floyd to death, right wingers who harass Sandy Hook victims. They have no reason to be evil besides the fact that they can and they feel powerful being able to control the lives of others.

After having a successful play in the community threatre, I wrote the screen play to go with it, and I have a friend that works in Hollywood on Grays Anatomy. He said he would read it and see what other people thought. Ps.I like all the videos you have. Very helpful. Thank you.

Ok haven't finished the vid yet I'm at 6:51 most of things i sort of agree with but the crowded no cause yes most of the movie isolation but for like a ending or opening i like to do something big like scream 6 quiet place day one so cool like a action scene with so much suspense. Plus unknown is better you can't reveal too much or it's just bad and leaves no imagination And there's so much real to that real killers

Didn’t realize it until I watched your analysis, but Legally Blonde could be the template on how to write a screenplay story structure & arc that sells the studio and the audience for almost any other idea.

I am an 80 year old retired construction supervisor living in the small Caribbean island Antigua. The most l want to do now is script writing. I listen to hundreds of other people talk about script writing and as a beginner get confused and turned off by most of them. As for you lady l could listen forever. You are simply the best. Thanks.

Screaming recriminations at rigid sweating sycophants standing at the foot of the table, ADOLF HITLER-thinning dark hair, toothbrush mustache, wild eyes-punctuates his rage with jerky arm movements, nearly flinging himself out of his own chair. A narcissist driven to the edge of insanity by the failure of his subordinates to lay world domination at his feet.
