That leather jacket is amazing! I think not in my budget right now but that is an awesome pick! I love Barefoot Dreams blankets! They are always great but if somebody already has a few already I would wait and see if Costco carries similar in the winter. I bought a Costco one on sale for I think about $15 on sale (brand name Artisan or Artisinal something like that, white and beige leopard pattern) and didn't open it up for a long time and when I did I was surprised it was virtually the same feel and quality and it has held up well. I doubt I will buy anything from the Anniversary Sale this year other than maybe underwear.

I was surprised about columbus too. We ended up saying there for the night on a whim while traveling. Rented scooters and went to a soccer game. I just had a great two days.

This was really good. Your Dad is very practical and down to earth. I agree with all of his opinions except for the Chanel WOC. True, they are an outrageous price for what they are, but they hold their value very well and over time actually appreciate. It was less than 10 years ago that you could buy a brand new one for around $1000. Look at the preloved prices now. I do think you are on a winner if you buy a preloved one of those. They are only going to go up in the long term. YSL on the other hand are at the opposite end of the financial spectrum. They depreciate around 50% as soon as you walk out of the door of the store, so you would really have to love the bag and never intend to get tired of it and want to sell it to buy one of those. Sadly, since we last spoke about YSL, the annual profit report has been released and their parent company, Kering, is doing very badly. They also own Gucci. It’s one that needs careful watching in the immediate future.

Gucci isn’t doing particularly well and it’s suppose to be a real corner stone for them. They know they have an image issue which is why they’re pulling out of all the department store contracts. It’s why there are such big discounts on so many YSL items this season.

As far as I know it’s not discontinued. I would recommend calling the customer care line and they can usually either find on in stock in the country or tell you if there is an expected restock date.

My husband and I collect as a couple - his and hers watches - and have been to every major brand's ADs and boutiques - and have purchased many, many luxury watches. Of all of them, the ONLY one that treated us poorly was AP. I have no interest in ever owning one of these watches.

They are claiming to pass savings on to customers….hmmmm ….sounds fishy to me. I think demand has gone down and they realized their bags are overpriced so they’re trying to capture more customers. I bought the toy lou lou when it was less than $1k and I eventually sold it because it wasn’t worth the money and it wasn’t a Chanel. It’s insane that it nearly doubled in price over the last few years.

I think YSL blew up very fast and some of the bags that were popular at a much lower price point just aren't worth it currently, but others are. My two YSL bags are just as nice as my chanel. There are YSL bags that aren't great; there are chanel bags that aren't great. In the end, we all overpay for them al if we're being honest.

Thanks for reviewing this for us. There isn’t much out there about the Envelope bag. I had been considering a large one in white but the size appears to have been discontinued. Which brings me to another point. I have noticed that YSL has dramatically cut down on the range of colours in their bags. I have been wondering if they are in trouble? Have you heard anything?

They aren’t in trouble. They’re just trying to be more sustainable with less waste. The brand itself is also more about neutrals than color so they’re trying to make it so that each collection flows together throughout the years as opposed to be more seasonal.
