If ever a sequel to Dirge of Cereberes happens, I'd like a redemption arc for Sephiroth and/or Genesis. Sephiroth was lied to his whole life and never knew his real mother while Genesis was considered a failure and ironically is the only surviving 1st class SOLDIER left.

Sephiroth in CC was amazing. Before Nibelheim he was such a great character, I really can't stand him as a villain after it though. Its like "my mother is not who I thought she was, fine Ill destroy the planet now/burn down a whole village full of innocents". For me it is just so out of perspective. Also his obsession with Cloud. They had one field trip where Cloud backstabbed him out of pure luck and now he lives in Sephiroths head rent free?

i hope enix sorta makes some sort of alternate reality (a separate one ofc kinda like a multiverse) where he doesn't go insane and maybe even ends up helping cloud and the party fight against shinra, considering all that they've done to him. and then he gets to kill hojo ofc, whom he really loathes. that would be the happiest ending for me 🥺🥺

I love how just Sephiroth says "It's all yours" right away, Sephiroth wanted only one thing, to be together again with his friends, never cared about glory, or the title of hero of Shinra, he was cool with how the things used to be, genesis always quoting Loveless, Angeal always talking about honor and dreams, while he was just chilling with them in the training room, but everything went down after knowing the truth of his nature, my man just wanted to be happy, and ended up being a fking monster

I think that a lot of people in the comments seem to miss that the Sephiroth villain people know is just Jenova, it is not Sephiroth. when his mind is weak he is overwhelmed by Jenova. He was never bad and this scene is a lot more like who he actually is. The only villains in this are human greed and some weird alien lady.
