Was hoping to find this video and thread again.....I attempted trail 1130 Bear Creek Mountain, from the Conrad Meadows starting point; I had hoped to get up to the top and link up with the trail system and perhaps Section 3 Lake; about a mile or so into trail 1130, it basically turns into a land navigation course; remnants of a fire, blowdowns, etc; could not find the actual trail; did the best I could to get to the top but ran out of time. Have you ever explored this section? Was hoping to reverse it sometime (section 3 lake to Conrad Meadows).

really enjoyed this video and appreciate you scouting the abandoned trail; I did a hike recently from Section 3 Lake; research and trail reports mentioned an intersection with that trail, but I did not notice it on my trek.

Oh yeah---how were the mosquitoes?? I stupidly forgot bug spray (or thought I did) when climbing up this trail last month....and was DYING!!! And when I was about to curl up and die, I looked in my first aid kit and found bug spray! ha ha! The mosquitoes were bad the whole time climbing up!!

@@siksikamacgyver I think I got lucky with my timing....an early start, a bit of a breeze, and as mentioned the smoke; bugs weren't bad until the end; when I was cooling down back at the trailhead, darn biting flies showed up.

NOICE!!! I love & miss the NorCal coast!! Envious you get to live there!! And wow--I loved Little Jackass Beach! So cool and new to me! Would you go to Shelter Cove & then hike back or shuttle a vehicle? It really is such an awesome place. I'm sad I only learned about Lost Coast toward the middle of my days at HSU...but I've gone back many times since! If you thru hike to Shelter Cove post a video! :) (Be better & more careful than me hiking up Chamisal Mountain...or whatever it's called!) :)
