I wonder if you could use air clay to make the impression then, use that as your negative(that's what they call a plaster mold) I know! Find someone who makes molds for clay pots and see if they can make the negative for you or make the whole thing for you.

I think it would work. I actually realized that the smaller ramekin I have fits in the bigger one perfectly, so I could use it to make a mold! I haven't done it yet, but someday! 💜

They r elegant. I have to stamp mine as soon as they r cut or I won’t be able to cut them. I do a 50-50 lye solution and I put a good amount of sodium lactate. I usually have to cut them after gel phase is done and it’s cooled down. My daughter used a rubber mallet and she has to hit it pretty hard. I agree with u. I don’t bevel because a couple minutes into use the edges r no longer an issue at all and I also do not like confetti soap. Beautiful soaps! I seal my boxes with my wax seal wax. I use the wax seal gun that looks like a glue gun. I put mostly everything in boxes then I close it and instead of the sticker I add a little sealing wax and it’s glued shut. I worked on my body butter recipe for over 2 years. My son has bad eczema And his skin in the winter would crack and bleed. He doesn’t like anything greasy. So nothing I naught him worked. I did Burt’s Bees, Vaseline , L’Oréal, Oil of Olay and I have tried everything and nothing was a true body butter. I didn’t know that at the time, so I did a lot of research and I learned so much. My goal was just to make my son a body butter that absorbs instantly and is absolutely not greasy while being a true body butter with 0 water. After a small fortune later and 2 years I have my body butter formula and I actually just tweeted it and it’s even better than it was. My son it’s all he’ll use. That was 12 years ago that I formulated my body butter and a bath and body company messaged me and asked if I would give them my recipe and they got nasty when I said no. It’s not ok to think ur entitled to a formula that to someone time to research and the money and ur disappointment and to feel that success. They don’t wanna do any of the work, but want the rewards. There a lot of entitled people in this world. I was shocked at the audacity for anyone to call another company owner and ask for their product formulas. Lol that was 3 years ago and I’m still floored by that.

Thank you! If your soaps are so hard, why do you also add the sodium lactate? I stopped adding it to mine because I only priced a difference in the individual molds like my gingerbread man one. It really does boggle the mind that people will ask for formulas and get their knickers in a knot if you say no, especially when there's a literal ton of free recipes out there, and free information about just about everything under the sun. I'm so glad you found something that worked for your son! I started formulating for myself for similar reasons. I can use Dove etc. just fine but I wanted to use the pretty, fun soap, and everything I tried made me dry and itchy. Thank you so much for watching, and taking the time to leave a lovely comment! I wanted to sit down and type a response at my computer and do it justice, but here I am in bed on my phone! 💜

It's unbelievable to me a company would ask for a formula, offer something pathetic, and then get mad you said no! If they really wanted it there would have been a sincere offer. I wonder if you can get residuals or % of sales when the right contract? I suppose you'd need a lawyer and a serious buyer for that 😂

P.S. You could even save your Olive oil for your bar soaps because Coconut Oil cuts to the chase when it comes to cleansing 😊 So you could use, as I’ve just twigged that you mentioned (re listening as I scribe) 100% Coconut Oil. But I’d certainly recommend wearing rubber gloves when washing your dishes 😊

I hope you don’t mind me mentioning but that Extra Virgin Olive Oil is awfully yellow 😮 If it truly is EVOO It should be green. There’s so much fraudulent activity with Olive Oil - especially Extra Virgin. They ‘modify’ them with cheap seed oils like Canola…thus adulterating it, if there is even any olive in it at all. EVOO is a premium product and as such attracts an equivalent price. It might pay to research veritable brands i.e. those ‘verified’ as Pure EVOO. It’s especially important right now because there has been much widespread theft of entire olive-laden branches in the major olive producing countries like Italy - especially in the South - Greece, and Spain. The resultant desecration of the trees has not only damaged ancient trees, and protracted the production of Olives for many years to come, it has also desecrated the income of the Olive producers - often single families. 😢. Meanwhile, I’d hate to think you were being ripped off 💜💜💜. You’re going to a lot of trouble to present a premium product yourself. There’s no need to apologise for having a tub of laundry towels. You’re in a working kitchen - that’s life 😊. Shame on anyone who would cast aspersions 😉😉. Bless you.

You can buy everything you need to make your first basic soap at Walmart (no colour or fragrance). Elly's Everyday and Lovely Greens both also have some great beginner tutorials on soapmaking as well, that's where I started! Good luck and happy making! I have a question, what would you say your best way of getting a decent sized customer base in the first place is? Was it a advertising? Marketing? social media posting? Any certain sm platform in particular? etc etc. I'm still having trouble cracking the market after 3 + years in the business and despite making excellent soaps of all wonderful kinds. 😔
@triplegoddesssoapery
@triplegoddesssoapery 3 ай бұрын
For me I've found the best way to break into the local market was doing as many markets and special events as I could. I've built a few loyal customers that way and make most of my sales at in person events. The next was keeping up a strong social media presence across as many platforms as possible. I've gotten a few returning customers that way. The last thing I did was make sure everyone knew I'm open to wholesale, starting on faire (zero sales there btw) and emailing as many local shops as I could find that I thought would be a good fit with my brand. Also bring active in business and local Facebook groups so I see when people are looking for product for their stores or events that are happening I might want to get in on. I will say I'm still very small time, but I'm growing in the right direction! Also, paying for advertising did nothing for me, I'm pretty sure I've had zero customers from that. I do however have a website and try and drive all my traffic to it. I hope that helps! Thank you for taking the time to watch and also asking a question! 💜

I'd say to double check your ratio of wet to dry ingredients to make sure it's the same, and you're not accidentally using less liquid than you think. Mine comes out like perfect playdough consistency every time. Are you using rice starch? Or substituting any of the ingredients for alternatives? A different starch might result in a different consistency. I dont think your environment would have much of an impact on the result. If all else fails, add the starch a little at a time until the desired dough is achieved for molding. Let me know how it goes!
