Great album. A friend of mine told me about it way back. I had never heard of him, but it was being played in FL. I lived in NC. Found it at the record store , still have it

Funny, this one looks a tad Esquire-ish. Fascinating melody.

All these years later and this song still kicks my ass. Just yesterday I was using it to test some used stereo equipment that had come into the shop. Wherever he is, I hope David Werner is doin' well.

Saw a picture of him on the WYYD Freeform page on Facebook at Giant Eagle on January 22 of this year. Looks like he's doing fine.

This is the first version of this track I ever heard; since that time, I have heard many different ones by not only Son Volt, but several others; this is, to me, easily the best of them all. Great job, love it to death!!

Once a slave to the hero rock. Doesn't anybody know what's right? Makin' sparks for the pyro jock. Doesn't anybody know what's right? Or givin' light to the lights and dark. Doesn't anybody know what's right? In the city, there's a sound. It's a see-saw goin' down. We’re all aboard for the check-out line. Doesn't anybody know what's right? Trust in Him, and it'll work out fine. Doesn't anybody know what's right? In the city, there's a sound. It's a see-saw goin' down. Every moment has a place. It's a cage with a game. Well, if you're there, tell me where you are. Doesn't anybody know what's right? Well, I can walk, if it's not too far. Doesn't anybody know what's right? Take it easy. It's okay. I'm believin' what you say. What you say. What you knew, I can dare. Where we hollered, “Am I there?” Ah. Ah. Ah. Ooh. Ooh. Yeah. Woo. Ooh. In the city, yeah, there's a sound. It's a seesaw goin' down. Every moment has a place. It's a cage with a game.

I heard "Question you? I don't dare. Where we headed? Am I there?" "Every moment has a claim. It's a cagey little game." Whatev, great tune, great share. Thanks.
