17:00 the correct name to be used is saavitrii mantra (saavitrii = related to savitr' =~ the Sun god). Gaayatrii is the chhandas (metre) in which this mantra is. It is such a humbling feeling for a practitioner of daily sandhyaa-vandanaa (i.e. saavitrii mantra japa) - to know that Sri Aurobindo named his epic poem as Savitri 🙏 Many thanks for this series; interesting and new perspectives into commonly seen things/phenomenon.. Hello, does Sri Aurobindo recommend the use of mantras for Integral Yoga? Specifically to contact the higher worlds? Can you also talk about Mother's mantra "Om Namo Baghavate", which she used in her work for body awareness? One last note: in the shamanic tradition, the Icaros are sacred songs that transform Reality during an experience with Ayahuasca. We literally see the world of visions change when the Icaros is modified, allowing us to reach ever higher worlds. Icaros also works on certain chakras. This is similar to the power of Mantras.

Just as Sraddhalu ji mentions that Maharshi Panini was given the Maheshwar Sutras by Lord Shiva himself, Sri Aurobindo confides in a letter to an associate how Sri Krishna himself is teaching him the origins of human speech: "Sri Krishna has shown me the true meaning of the Vedas, not only so but he has shown me a new Science of Philology showing the process & origins of human speech so that a new Nirukta can be formed & the new interpretation of the Veda based upon it." (R) And Force (H) To finally limit itself in a form: the Infinite emanates the Finite. (M). Wow, we can feel the creation of the Universe in this Word! Amazing, thank you Sraddhalu and Sri Aurobindo!
