Does anyone have a link to that pbr guide from Wes McDermott? I see articles on 80lvl and the allegorithmic website referencing a free pdf, but the links now redirect to the adobe website and I hanven't been able to find the doc there.

The tessellation setting is not available in my version of Designer... any ideas? Under height, it only shows Height, Height Scale and Height Level. I can't find anywhere how to access tessellation.

I found the tutorial really brilliant. However, I followed it with French subtitles, it would be really great if Adobe could do the same training totally in French :-)

And any kind of geometry-snapping to align vertex, lines or polygon normals? And has any funtion for UVW mapping textures? i love this program and i think it may be a cool and complex software!!!

Hello, I am following the playlist of this magnificent tutorial and I love it, but there is a tool that you used to overlay the image of the fabric and extract the color with the gradient map node, I would like to know what tool it is, and Also another thing, it didn't work for me to change the connections in the height map to correct the smooth curvature node, I did the same steps but something must have affected it I guess and the solution was to break the inheritance.
@louisemelin11294 күн бұрын
Hey! The tool I'm using to overlay my image reference is Pureref, it's free and very handy. As for your other question it's hard to tell without seeing your graph, like you said, when you're not sure where the problem comes from just change the inheritance of the node manually :)

Hi there - Thanks for your feedback. Could you please specify what information you found missing in the last part? We'll do our best to help clarify any question you may have.
@CH3RYTКүн бұрын
for the final part you type this - input["input_selection"]==3 the symbol you need is a " I at first thought this was a * due the resolution of the video. Essentially I am assuming it is just a line of script to identify the custom ornament section being visible if the third custom input is being used, rather than appearing when option 1 and 2 are in place. Correct me if I am wrong!

I know you guys want to show all the capabilities of the software but making all the anatomy of a human head from the skeleton to the muscles and finally to the skin only to end up with a very uncanny and artificial dude with not even his mouth properly modeled is... a choice.

Always use this workflow to transfer the topology from my sculpted Hercules full body on to new sculpts, the cool thing is all the high frequency details on the higher divisions remains so u can keep using it. No need to redo the skin pores, wrinkles, veins, etc.

Make videos of work flow for game assets or for animation. People know how much of their work can be done in Substance 3D from start to finish. And don't make things in the uncanny valley.

This tutorial has been not only so well organized and clearly explained, but its a very fun project too! Its complicated enough to learn many different tools and techniques, but simple enough to follow along as a beginner. I'm in college as an environment artist, going into my senior year, and this program isn't taught formally at my school but will be so useful for me to improve my work. Would love to take many more classes from Louise. Thanks again!
