quando, nel 1967, ho ordinato la mia R 69 S, ho voluto verificare ( su una R 50 S, allora disponibile dal concessionario) quale fosse la velocità minima sopportabile con due persone a bordo. Sulla R 50 S fu di 60 km/h; e mi convinsi all'ordine. L'attesi otto mesi. È stata la migliore motocicletta da turismo di tutti i tempi, comprese le Brough Superior e le Vincent che non giunsero a maturità
