Yes, the engine does really vibrate as most big 4-strokers do. And you can see in the video how Hyde mount effectively fights those vibrations down.

Any experience with that setup you might want to share? Aiming for a similar one, however planning to replace the oracover foil of the body by 0,6mm plywood to be more scale. Might become heavier but with that motor that should not be a problem, what do you think?

As you probably know there is always a dilemma - better flying characteristics or prettier appearance. In this case I have chosen the first and do not regret, because now I like to fly it. I am sure that small RTF weight is essential for this setup. Overall flying characteristics are highly enjoyable and she is capable to perform a lot of aerobatics (even inverted) with ease. There is no unexpected spin tendency also. There is a lack of vertical performance, but I use fuel with only 10-15% nitro, so engines performance could be increased by adding more nitro. Another important factor is the CG with this setup is just right. If you replace the foil on the body with even lightweight plywood, then CG will certainly move backward. Of course it is possible to put FA-56 in front to compensate CG shift, but still overall weight will become higher and you are going to loose some delight flying features of a light plane. So I do recommend you to keep the weight low if you want to enjoy flying it.
