I have a question… If I want to close or sell the buy contract such as this-- is it the same naked call as selling a call? Meaning if I sell my buy to call contract, does it put my at the same risk as selling a buy call? I know with buy calls, etc. this risk is losing the premium but I’m still hesitant
@JustEasyOptions4 күн бұрын
@@denzmo1139 Im still a little lost with your question. It’s seems to be based on buying to close vs selling to open. When you buy to open an option such as a call, you sell to close it, that is not a naked call, you’re simply closing your position. A naked call is when you sell to open and it’s not covered, meaning you don’t own 100 shares. And again I want to be clear if your buying options there is no implications of owning any shares.
@denzmo11394 күн бұрын
@ Sorry, thank you for the quick response. You kinda hit the money on the question. I meant as in “I buy the option, made the profit. - I want to collect the profit, so to close I have to sell the contract or have it filled per se before the expiration date. I had some profit made from the buy call option, how ever the share per stock was still below the strike price. Am I at any implication? Thank you, once again.
@denzmo11394 күн бұрын
You can say, I was nervous to collect profit due to it not being over or on the strike price, so I was worried I was at implication to pay the rest or be exposed to an unlimited naked risk
@JustEasyOptions3 күн бұрын
@@denzmo1139 the call option controls 100 shares but you have no obligation to have to buy them. You can sell your right by selling to close the call option at any time, ideally for a profit. It’s possible to see a profit on the call option even when the option is above the share price depending on the IV and extrinsic value of the option.
@JustEasyOptions3 күн бұрын
@@denzmo1139 you don’t have any naked risks, when you buy to option a call option. Your max risk is the amount you paid for. You must sell the option before expiration if you don’t plan on buying 100 shares at the strike price

@@JustEasyOptions why is delta so important? If a stock is at $15 and there is a put for $2.5 asking .70 per share but delta is -.0023. Would I make money selling it or would it lose money? Why not sell the lowest put if you think the price will go up? Does that not lower your risk and getting the most reward?
@JustEasyOptions4 күн бұрын
@ those numbers seem odd. Delta represents how much the stock will change on a $1 increase in the underlying, and it can also be used as an estimate for chance of expiring ITM. You can sell puts that are extremely out of the money, but generally the premiums will be very low so the risk to reward ratio is unfavorable to most traders.
