I do not really like Rebecca Reid. She made incredibly judgemental & ignorant sweeping comments about "class" & related issues, using only one tiny social minority as an example. I imagine that kind of ethic echoes across much of her brand of journalism? Maybe.

51:33 did she just say war and mining are natural spaces that have been carved out for men 😂 Is this what she thinks of men? That men want these spaces?? Or that they’re good for men?? Men don’t do those jobs because they want to, it’s because no one else will, and because men are literally forced into them. This woman is fucking delusional

As a student at a British university right now - it disappoints me that this is the calibre of student 'journalism' we are putting out. The questions are clearly biased, and skewed to encourage an anti-Trump response, which is clearly what they're fishing for. I'm all for diversity of perspectives, but if the student 'journalists' of Bristol want to remain inside their liberal middle class bubble, refusing to accept right-wing opinions as anything but racist, bigoted etc., then I don't have high hopes for the future of the British workforce...

This is some of the worst 'journalism' I think I've ever see. All the questions are leading the interviewee on to agree with the beliefs of the interviewer. Take the first question: "Should a convicted felon be allowed to run for president?" It's so obvious what answer the interviewer is looking for. The question is clearly only relating to one candidate, and so the question rather becomes "Should Donald Trump be allowed to run for president?", which obviously invites opinions unrelated to whether he's a felon or not. Also, the founding fathers of the USA were all convicted felons under British Law. Nelson Mandela was convicted of terrorism. Should these convictions discount someone from being able to run a country?
@rileyfletch16 күн бұрын
"Should these convictions discount someone from being able to run a country?", is quite literally the question she asked. Are you disappointment with the question, or the answer? The question seems rather innocent, if it weren't for the fact that Trump is indeed a convicted felon.
@qqqalo16 күн бұрын
@@rileyfletch The question, given the context of the current world, is very clearly just saying "Do you think Trump should be President". Trump's crimes (not actually convicted of, due to presidential immunity), have been so widely publicized such that the question can only be interpreted one way by anyone who has the slightest knowledge of the current happenings of American politics (which middle class people taking humanity degrees most certainly are). I'm disappointed with the question, especially considering how ultimately inconsequential it is to questions of his ability to be president. Also, the idea that someone's criminal history should influence his ability to serve in public office is absurd. I'm sure if you were to instead ask "Should having a criminal history disallow someone from being able to serve as a public representative?", you'd get very different answers.
@spaghettibolognese108417 күн бұрын
I think your team needs to read more widely and investigate why different Americans think the way they do before posing questions. You're asking leading questions which pander to your own political beliefs which is a sign of poor journalism. Believe me folks, the world is bigger than the insulated, middle class bubble of Bristol University and believe it or not, people have different ways of seeing the world. Some might argue that many Americans were financially more well off under trump's administration. If people's standard of living declines under one administration, the real question is why would they vote for that same party again? At the end of the day, it all comes down to how much food you can put on the table.

on average, you needed to be making $75,000 a year to afford a house in america under donald trump, under joe biden and kamala harris you now need to be making $135,000.

This is such a good idea but would have been much better showing more locations with side by side shots from the series and also making the video much much longer! Also everyone in this video looks far too young to have had the chance to watch this show as a teenager when it aired so it’s cool to see todays teens are still watching what we watched all those years ago ✌️

I haven't watched all of this video but at 14.25, didn't you view the property before agreeing the lease and moving in? I know what the answer will be: "Student accommodation is scarce." Moreover, you could spend a few quid to buy some one way reflective mirror window film, a door stop or a handle for the shower. Yes, I know the Landlord should do it but for your own sanity and well-being.

True: Landlords charge huge rents for decaying properties for students in Bristol. These are spruced up between tenants so new ones do not realise how bad it is and Lanords delay on repairs so it's not fixed by the time current tenants leave. Chandos Road area, Redland, Bristol has the highest rented student property concentration in the Country. What these students are saying is totally true. (E.g. medical student on ward placements & friends during Covid couldn't bathe in her house due to boiler not having hot water, for months).
