The way she is reading is highly dramatic and professional but it has nothing to do with the poem whose true lyric beauty is lost in the way she accents the words and in their pace.

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (Anywhere i go you go, my dear; And whatever is done by only me Is your doing, my darling) I fear no fate (For you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (For beautiful you are my world, my true) And it's you are whatever a moon has always meant And whatever a sun will always sing is you Here is the deepest secret nobody knows (Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud And the sky of the sky of a tree called life; Which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart... (I carry it in my heart...)

Is this the same guy that allegedly attacked a woman with a snowshoe?

By William Shakespeare My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun; Coral is far more red than her lips' red; If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. I have seen roses damasked, red and white, But no such roses see I in her cheeks; And in some perfumes is there more delight Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks. I love to hear her speak, yet well I know That music hath a far more pleasing sound; I grant I never saw a goddess go; My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground. And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare As any she belied with false compare.

The Layers I have walked through many lives, some of them my own, and I am not who I was, though some principle of being abides, from which I struggle not to stray. When I look behind, as I am compelled to look before I can gather strength to proceed on my journey, I see the milestones dwindling toward the horizon and the slow fires trailing from the abandoned camp-sites, over which scavenger angels wheel on heavy wings. Oh, I have made myself a tribe out of my true affections, and my tribe is scattered! How shall the heart be reconciled to its feast of losses? In a rising wind the manic dust of my friends, those who fell along the way, bitterly stings my face. yet I turn, I turn, exulting somewhat, with my will intact to go wherever I need to go, and every stone on the road precious to me. In my darkest night, when the moon was covered and I roamed through wreckage, a nimbus-clouded voice directed me: “Live in the layers, not on the litter.” Though I lack the art to decipher it, no doubt the next chapter in my book of transformations is already written, I am not done with my changes. the reading needs to be plainer and more quietly rhythmical without self or emotional overemphasis -- allow the beautiful voice only to let the words be beautiful with clear strong diction. I cannot understand this reading. Hopkins is already overwrought and excessive in style -- reading must be clear calm and easy to understand. with subdued emotion.
