The lead unit is actually one of two SD-19's that MRL had, which are rebuilt SD-9's. You can tell by the later style cab, in this case. The other one looks more like an SD-38 because the long hood was rebuilt as well. Both have gone to the Columbia Basin Railroad.

in front of this video, is a hearing commercial. and a stuck stuff commercial. 2023 still has bad music. cut the sound down a bit if nothing else. but what brand of coupler do you use? as everybody i know use kadees, i am a member in a large club, and kadees are required. but for some reason a number of manf want to use the cheap knockoff plastic couplers, that do not work very good with kadees, if at all.

Nice how did you split power with the locomotives

It’s your layout and your decision, but the paved road is excellent! You spent a lot of time perfecting it, and most folks won’t know when they paved it 😅. Of course, this video is 7 years old so it likely has been decided, huh?

Nice video!! What kind of material is that directly under the tracks?? It looks great and seems to deadening the sound somewhat!

You have a link for the Magnorail? I may as well use it for what I've got in mind. At least for a massive Garden railroad.

That's a P3 you switched it to and a K3H default. Your going to want switch it to the K3LA if you want to be perfectly accurate. You should give it some soot around the exaught panels that would look perfect!

5:29 UP 7771. I’ve now seen and filmed that engine. In this shot from 2016, it led Union Pacific Manifest MNYPU(I now know some of the train symbols of the Union Pacific). On May 24th, 2022, UP 7771 was leading another Manifest. This time, it led it in the eastbound direction through Caldwell, Idaho.

I can remember the times between 2012 and 2018 when I would always see trains traveling across Colorado’s Joint Line. Much of that time was in Castle Rock. All of this train watching came at that time, well before the creation of my channel. Ever since the time I made my channel, I’ve been filming trains in Idaho.

Hi SMT&C , RailSol here. I feel identified with you in your video. I have no money to buy and time to run a scale model. Anyway im playing a very simplistic curious simulator called > (JB) BAHN ... its a simulator not fucused in awesomenes of 3D graphics, its more focused in a extended track network and automation of railway operations, anyway you also could control trains, at your own level of difficuty. Looking your layout in your video, I feel that its not irrealistc after all. 😄 because my last work is a small yard of 6 tracks serving a logistic center. The central part of the yard its similar like mine. THe difference its only the status of the consists. The challenge its handle automatically.there are a track for the switcher, a track for cargo engine, 1 track for reversing, 2 main lines, 1 track for storage or general purpose. 3 tracks for arriving consists, and 3 tracks for departure consist. and 1 track for the Logistic center. The yard are divided in some of 8 sections, made for the automatic work of the operations. I pass near 2 days thinking about how the automation could be to handle the operations. (the yard only takes me a morning to construct). I enjoy a lot the brainwork. And of course its very relaxing and confortable feeling watching all the system working. Surely like you do. sadly my engilsh its not perfect and my (shy)level its huge to make a simple video showing the work. Anyway , i enjoyed a lot. thanks.

Kevin, update on quilted batting - I wote before and the project turned out excellent., just a note - - I determined the area or setion to have the batting. I laid out the batting and pinned it down, and with a sharpie, connected the bots around the cirucmverence. Removed the batting and cut it out. Pinned the batting down on the FAR side to hold it into positin and so it would not move around. Working forward slowly, painted the glue on the land forms and slowl brought the battin forward and shaped into tall the nooks and valleys. At the leading edge, pinned that down too. checked the entire perimiter was in place pained it all with brown latex foam which soaked into the batting and mixed with the pva and boned it all down While wet - sprinkled on the first layer of brown ground foam as a base Next day installed the secnery, working with the element shortest in height and then the rest going up in height along the way. Absolutely excellent with many comments by seansoned modelers who had never done this. Shahved hundreds of pounds off the layout and cheap as chips too. Bob S - cleveland
