Seriously, what are they saying after the chorus? All I can make out is "Cypress mosh pit breaking on top"

Cypress is dope, and this performance definitely ain't bad, but damn it doesn't have the same energy as the studio version. Just my opinion, but their delivery on the album is way more aggressive. They're bouncing around the stage here and performing, and they lose a little bit of that aggression.

I remember 10 years ago watching these videos at my parents house pretending I was really there lmao. Now im 24, in my own home with two kids - doing the same exact thing 🤣 you can just feel the energy.

I always said to myself that _American Idiot_ was the better record. the better full experience over _Dookie._ the songs on _Dook_ were naturally BETTER, but _Idiot_ flowed and expanded and grew from itself, then by the end fit right back into the beginning. front to back classic. then years went by, I held that position pretty firm. then more years went by. I didn't listen to Green Day that much, I just assumed I felt the same. then more years went by and I listened to them again. and suddenly I just couldn't hear _American Idiot_ the same way. it was the sound - mostly, frankly, the guitars. they all sounded .... identical. every song, the guitar sounded like a crushed box of digital compression to be as loud as possible. and then I put on _Dookie_ and even listened to the isolated tracks, and ... wow. it's an amazing difference. the guitars are warm, personable and really quite analog. it's possible Billie and Co. used the exact same guitars on the exact same amps, but mixing and mastering had changed so much in the ten years apart. it'd all gone digital, and The Loud Wars had begun. and _American Idiot,_ like all records from that time, was crushed into this thin, Rob Cavallo cage where you don't so much hear GUITARS as you do GREY NOISE. it sounded huge at the time. it sounds like shit to me now, all back to back like that. even if the songs are still good, they've got no character. they've been mixed and mastered into digital oblivion. and _Dookie_ is again the best record. after all those years. it's got the better songs AND the better sound. AI doesn't sound like the trip it used to - all songs sound identical once they get loud. what a shame, but telling of its era. a good album, but not the great one I thought it was all those years.

I heard Basket Case on the radio in 1994 and bought Dookie and Woodstock 94 on CD, when I was 9 years old. I remember Dookie cost like $6 or something, at the store… It’s now 30 YEARS AGO…What??????! These guys were an incredible talent, and so young! I’ve got Nostalgia off the charts right now.
